Patty it was reported early on that the house and condo that they owned caused them financial problems and was the start of their marriage problems.. iirc it was 2008

Thanks nurse. I was thinking more in 2011 and just didn't remember back to 2008. :(

Does anyone know if she does or has ever held a job outside of the home? How does she support herself and her children? I had read that the family was having financial difficulties and yet owned a home and a condo? I assume she receives child support payments from her ex-husband.

I don't think the divorce is final yet. But yes, he was ordered to pay child support a while back anyway per the court documents.

I don't know where Julia's income comes from. It's baffling.

We so need the court documents.

My initial thought was when Julia was at this 12 hour mediation, and IF it is true the children were left home alone, my thought was they were locked in a closet. The more I think of it now, perhaps they were both locked in the bathroom.

We don't know if Sky was potty trained yet, but let's say he was and he could use the potty as well as his sis "M". They would have access to water, however, also have access to a lot of danger by falling into an empty tub, or falling on a tiled floor or into the toilet.

If Sky was not potty trained, his diaper would be full, as well as heavy and he would want to pull it off, or it would leak out of both sides. Too much room for messing an open house, if they were left free to roam. This is why I feel they were confined and the bathroom would be the easiest to clean. :(

I'd be very surprised if Sky was potty trained at 25 mo's. In my experience some girls can be toilet trained at 18-24 mo's but all the boys I know it is closer to the 36 mo mark, give or take a few mo's on either side of 36 mo's.

I thought the apartments had pergo flooring. That wouldn't be so hard to keep clean. My thoughts are she probably locked them in one of the smaller bedrooms?

I'm still curious on how sound proof the individual apartments are. If she left those children alone for long periods of time, the odds are someone would have heard those kids. Unless she gave them something to knock them out for the duration she was expecting to be gone.

Did anyone hear Sky after 10-23? ( using 10-23 as the two week mark based on MSM reports a neighbor reported seeing him about two weeks earlier. An exact date has not been verified.)

You are so correct!! Especially when the husband puts on a big act in front of everyone else, making it seem he is the kindest, sweetest guy in the world. No one else sees this abuse but the wife... not even the kids, most of the time. The verbal abuse can be as bad as the physical, making the woman feel that she is worthless and that she deserves this abuse, it's all her fault.

It's interesting to read these comments about this guy, that he is so cute and so believable, when it's entirely possible that he is merely putting on a front for the cameras. He didn't seem all that charming to me. Not saying he was responsible for Sky's disappearance, but there is always two sides to a story and I am not certain that his side is the whole truth just yet. And he did play a part in leaving the baby in the car in cold weather, he admits that. I am wondering if he cares as much for these children as he says he does. You just never know.

So very true. He sounds so timid and I don't think he is that way in real life at all. Of course he came across as very sorry and not thinking when he left his son in the car before. He never said that it was his wife's idea, which I don't think it was. If he had all the problems with the wife's mental state that he claims why did he not take a video of her cleaning nonstop and not feeding the children? Why didn't he feed the children? He is no shrinking violet.

I don't know what type of flooring they have in their residence, just throwing stuff out of my head into a post.

My son was potty-trained by the age of 2. It was a requirement for him to be trained in order to attend "daycare", back in 1970. He had to wear training pants in order to be accepted into the 2 year old class. But then 43 years ago, we worked harder to get our children potty trained as most of us we still using cloth diapers and rubber pants.

My now 9 yr old was trained at about 33 mo's. My 3.5 yr old nephew about 36 mo's and my now 17 yr nephew about 40 mo's. Though each are onlies.... and the ages may differ with an older sibling.

JB doesn't strike me as the kind of parent to put that much effort into toilet training if she is so busy with her cleaning rituals, leading me to believe Sky was likely not toilet trained. Though, I could be wrong.

Well if she is a clean freak she might have already trained him so she doesn't have to deal with diapers.

Her Facebook page indicates she is a "stay at home" mom.

Where did you read they own a home and a condo?

I would assume that she was receiving child support from her husband, and perhaps, spousal support too!

It was reported they got into financial trouble because they couldn't afford to pay for both the house and condo. How much child support would she get and is that enough to support her and 2 kids? It probably depends on what kind of income the father has.

if she is such a clean freak, how can she handle the known mess that will be waiting for her after each time she left the kids alone?! Especially if she couldn't even go use the bathroom without the need to clean the mirror after every visit

Maybe the kids got out of whatever room or contraption she left them in, made a humongous mess and in turn, Sky was hurt during a fit of freaked out anger (hope that makes sense!)

Could be. It's entirely possible toilet training her children was one of her 'rituals'. If so, leaving them alone for countless hours would be far more dangerous if they had access to a toilet. Especially the 2 yr old. Also, a 4 yr old would not know sitting on or something along those lines could potentially hurt a younger child.

There are just so many things that could go wrong, it amazes me she left these children for so many hours. It makes me wonder if she had a fear of taking them out in public due to germs. Especially with her cleaning rituals. And that it was reported upthread somewhere that their daycare hadn't seen them in months.

My guess is she had fears of germs in public. Think of the door handles, sick kids at daycare.... She could 'control' cleaning her home. She wouldn't have that same 'control' exposing her children to whatever in public. This seems to make the most sense to me given MSM has reported she and her children lived a 'reclusive' lifestyle.

I have absolutely no idea why anyone would leave children that young alone. She herself wasn't afraid to go out in public. She also could have presumably asked her mother or brother to watch the kids when she had to go to mediation.

"Polygraph or not, there are questions we'd like to ask Julie with her attorney present," Bellevue Police Maj. Mike Johnson said.

It will be interesting to see if JB and her attorney agree to this meeting request. If not, that imo will give us all the answers we need.

I agree, it's baffling.

I would also guess that the mediators had some kind of child care resources - it seems they would even have nursery services on site. In cases where those facilities are used as a neutral drop off place for parents who don't have the maturity to even be able to tolerate each other's presence, they function as a drop in nursery.

Her thinking is just so baffling. That she would leave these kids alone for SO LONG (although, to be fair, I'm sure she didn't expect it to go on for 11 hours), and then later pretend her car ran out of gas when it didn't.

Inexplicable thought processes.
