Neither is eligible for parole until they are in their 90s. Jonathan got 70 years, Adriana got 67 years. Elizabeth Phelps ought to get something for child endangerment.

That is wonderful news. Thank you for answering. These two will die in prison which they both deserved.

I agree about the mother. She must have known what the father was like. You would think she would have checked on that little girl. Wonder why she didn't just keep her with her?

I just learned of little Summer this afternoon.....what a heartbreaking story. I don't understand why her mother left her with them.

SPOKANE, Wash. - A civil lawsuit was filed in Spokane County by the law firm of Ressler & Tesh on behalf of the Estate of Summer Phelps and Elizabeth Phelps.

The mother is no winner either. She was referred for "information" and or investigation 7 times to CPS. The 9th time CPS was involved was when Summer was brought dead to the hospital. The concern was for he baby at the residence.

So good luck to the mother and her "cash" grab in the name of her dead daughter. The mother had seven reports of abuse and then "left" her child with the Father and never came back. If this women was a mother, don't you think that she would have wanted to see her daughter in the time she was left with her Dad. I am sure she would have noticed the injuries to her daughter. But like other winner Mom's she choose to "remove herself" from the role of the child's mother and never gave it another thought.

So of course now "she is very" concerned that others did not do their "job" properly. Of course suing a City is the way to go because they have money. Please.......where the heck was the Mom in the child's life. Now of course she sues on behalf of her dead's daughter's estate. Guess who would have control of the money(if any)the mother.

Talk about useless" humans all around.

I agree Cyberlaw. I can't imagine what that Mother was thinking, knowing what she knew and yet she still left Summer there. Boggles me.

The "natural" mother had 7 CPS reports. 3 filed by the Dad. At the time of Summer's death, there was no open CPS investigation. The "agencies" were involved with the family due to the baby, not Summer.

The mother "washed" her hands of Summer, lied to the Dad, dropped of a little girl and never not once followed up even to talk to the child. I guess she got tired of those "pesky" CPS report when the child was in her custody and the "easy" thing to do is just hand over the child to her Dad. Live her life as usual, not giving her daughter a "second thought". Alas, now she is all concerned about her once she has died and "she could get money" out of her death.

R.I.P Summer.....you deserved so much better in life.

It was just reported in the news that Jonathan Lytle appealed his conviction, on the basis that mental health problems had prevented him from assisting his defense team.

Thankfully, the Washington Court of Appeals upheld his conviction today, saying that Lytle was competent to understand those proceedings. Jonathan Lytle will be finishing out his 75 year sentence, for torturing his beautiful little girl to death.

IMO, he deserved more punishment than just 75 years in prison, for the horrendous & torturous punishments he subjected little Summer to.

Glad he will be serving the rest of his life in prison.

This is one of the few stories I didn't click on any of the links due to the warnings of graphic details. I just couldn't do it. If it was worse than what was detailed here on WS, which was pretty bad, then........(speechless).
