"A young woman whose body was pulled from the Spokane River downtown early Tuesday morning was reported missing earlier this week by friends and family.

Sunquaria B. Noble, 17, was discovered by Avista Utilities workers at around 7 a.m. in the Lower Falls Dam near Huntington Park, just west of the Washington Water Power building on Post Street.

Noble’s cause and manner of death are both pending, the Spokane County Medical Examiner said Friday."

What a terrible picture for her family to see.
The newspaper should replace it.
I hope the police find the person(s) that did this to her.

Article from 2007

River yields 10 bodies in 16 months

While a corpse often leads to thoughts of foul play, that doesn’t hold true with those found in the Spokane River.

“Most of the time they are suicides,” or accidents, said Walker, whose team is often responsible for recovering the corpses.

It’s not clear why so many bodies have been found lately. However, the recently released medical examiner’s report said there were 12 more suicides locally last year than in 2005.

17-year-old girl found dead in Spokane River died by suicide, says Medical Examiner
Update. Anyone else feel like this is bull? Died by suicide via hanging? Are the media just incapable of reporting correctly or does it not make any sense that someone who hanged themselves somehow ends up in the river.
I saw this also in a news release to the media. Suicide by hanging with blunt force trauma to the torso & drowning as contributing factors. Seems far fetched but don't see why the medical examiner would make it up.

Stop with the conspiracy theories. ME's are true professionals and they know how to do their job. I used to work as a director of investigations at a huge psychiatric facility. One young man managed to sneak out, and no one could find him. I alerted the police. I had to go to the morgue to meet with Homicide detectives and the ME. Our resident dove head-first into a shallow area of Lake Michigan that was loaded with large, sharp rocks. He committed suicide by splitting his own skull open. When I examined his body with the ME I had to put in my report that "approximately 80% of his brain is missing". I had seen many suicides at that facility - most had a violent element to them. One young woman used a butter knife to literally rip her arms apart. When I went into her room to secure the scene there was so much blood all over - but especially on the ceiling that it was dripping all over me. It looked like a scene from a horror movie. When people are determined to kill themselves, they will - no matter what they have to do to their bodies.
