1. Syretta Brown never should have been in the position of being homeless. Syretta did not receive any assistance from Share and Care. Share and Care took Syrettas $1600 a month from her social security Disability and her VA for service in the United States Army as a sniper, Share and Care acting as Syretta Payee allotted Syretta $30 every other day to live on . Share and Care payee did not pay her rent with Syrettas own money. Share and Care as her payee should have been responsible enough to make sure Syretta had safe housing every month especially since they share the same office space as the HEN program (Housing essential Needs program) . Yet when I took Syretta there numerous times to request her payee help her to find housing the answer was always the same, Syretta had to locate a landlord willing to jump through the hoops to be approved by Syrettas Payee before they would issue Syrettas own money for her rent. As far as I am concerned the Share and Care payee needs to be held accountable for Syretta being forced to remain homeless and having to live like an animal outside in the freezing cold most days, on $30 for 2 days of Breakfast lunch and dinner...6 meals , Share and Care gave her $5 to spend on each meal and that is all. Of her own money she worked for during her lifetime. 2. Syretta suffered from delusions and breaks from reality from severe trauma after she found her husband buried in the sand with only his head above the sand when he was Murdered in Mexico shortly after their son was born. Syretta suffered from severe mental illness that was never treated...not drug addiction. Syretta could not afford to buy drugs if she want to. Please out of respect I need to dispel the issue of Syretta being a drug addict. She did smoke pot when it was given to her . 3. Syretta loved her children more than anything. Her mental illness was too much for her mom and dad to Handel along with raising her two children. 4. Syretta went to Share and Care every Tuesday and Thursday for the last 5 years to get her $30 allotment . The Payee should have been asking what happened to Syretta after the second time she missed...it took 6 weeks for anyone to notice her missing? 5. Tacoma Police Department will investigate this as a homicide. We need to make sure of it . 6. If the person who killed her is not caught , every woman in Tacoma had better be on gaurd. Syretta was a trained United States Milatary Soldier. Syretta could fight and kill with her bare hands. Yet she lost this last battle to someone who is more deadly than a trained Milatary Soldier. Understand? Thank you for allowing me to dispell some of the incorrect information in the articles. Syretta was my roommate on and off for many years. Peace sweet Syretta.
