WA - Teacher rapes 10 year old!!

The documents also say the boy's father told police he had asked Rice to stay away from his son a month ago when he became concerned about the interest Rice showed in his son. The father says Rice had been to their house to watch movies with the boy, had taken him on trips, and chatted often with him on the phone as well as Internet.

The boy's family reportedly called Rice as soon as they discovered the child was missing. According to police, Rice told them she had not seen the boy, though the child called family members a short time later to let them know he was safe.

Prosecutors say the boy was then dropped off at his uncle's house in Puyallup, Wash., after police told Rice an Amber Alert was being issued, with information on her vehicle.

My god! This makes your skin crawl!! At age 10 the boy wouldnt even be interested in girls in any way would he? (I may be wrong, not clued up on this) so this must have happened after a lot of pressure from the teacher for it ever to get to that stage.

Your not wrong ....and even if he was "interested in girls"
It would have to equate to simple normal curiosity and in no way reflect upon this sick B*** molesting him..

....

However I would call this case child molesting .. plain and simple this sick women needs to be locked away for the rest of her life.

Sadly it seems like these females tend to get a disproportionate sentence compared to their male counterparts.
Society will be lucky if she gets more than a slap on the wrist. It's not right. She is a sexual predator who will offend again. It' a proven fact.

Yes, I agree with those of you who pointed out that we are less afraid to report this type of taboo. As with other crimes, I am sure it has been going on for ages - way before our current 24/7 news cycle.

Prayers for these families.

The increase in sexual predators in women who are teachers has risen. Worst of all, she is a mother. We can all be thankful she will lose her children, she probably molested them too!

I hold his parents accountable also. Who in their right mind lets a 31 year old woman "watch movies" with their 10 year old. Who sleeps while this woman is in their home in their son's room??? Who wouldn't think something is wrong when this woman even comes to your home specifically to socialize with your kid??? What's wrong with his parents???!!!

KR2,
I too think she probably molested/raped her own kids. What a sick, sick woman.
Remember when we 'thought' we could trust our children with teachers?
Do you also remember when we thought we could trust our children with priest?

What is happening to this world????

I have four children and not once did a teacher ever want to come over to my home and watch TV with them. She had her own family...what was she doing going over to a students home to watch movies??!! Didn't the parents think there was something odd about that? I would have. Teachers don't spend their spare time hanging out with 10 yr old students at their home or anywhere else. Did the parents think it was cool at first because his teacher was taking such an interest in him? This is really creepy.

Now you not only have to keep your kids inside unless you can be outside with them but it is dangerous to send them to school...little league, any sports...anywhere where you aren't. I'm glad that my kids are grown and most of my grandkids are too. This is a sick day and age that we live in.

Yes my dear, unfortunately we can only trust ourselves. I think the support and honest opinions on here make a difference. At least now when I feel outrage, I read about others who feel the same.

Hmm when I was in school, the teachers certainly weren't cool enough to hang out with. Even the ones that were pretty close to the senior class age since they were new teachers. They just weren't cool enough, they were teachers. I mean that's not to say being a teacher isn't cool, it's absolutely awesome to be a teacher, both of my inlaws are! But you know, when you're in HS.. they're .... teachers.

I think the world needs to get a grip on reality. I think a swift kick to the head might do the trick. Where's Chuck Norris at when we need him?

July 2009:

There was no debate over Jennifer Rice’s sentence.

Under state statute, the only prison term possible for the former Tacoma school teacher, convicted of sex crimes involving a 10-year-old student and his older brother, was 25 years to life in prison...

Rice, a 33-year-old wife and mother of three, made no excuses for her behavior and recognized the hurt she’s caused many people.

“I am desperately sorry for what I have done,” Rice said. “My behavior was careless, impulsive and selfish.”

She talked about her faith in God, her prayers for all those afflicted by her actions and promised to take part in counseling and follow the all recommended treatment while in prison.

Repeatedly raping a 10 year old - careless, impulsive and selfish?!?! Bit of an understatement there!
