Were there any protests for this young man's death like they have had in this area for quite some time?
Even though it's rare for LE to kill anyone who is actually unarmed each year it does occassionally happen. Iirc the last data year I read 9 AA, and around 27 caucasians/Hispanics were unarmed, and killed by a cop. I'm sorry I can't remember how many unarmed Asians were unarmed, if any, and killed by a cop in the last year I read.
Some of the cases were ruled justified like when the DOJ under the Obama administration ruled Mike Brown's death a justifiable homicide by officer Wilson.
So it does show how important it is that each case stands on it's own, and must be investigated thoroughly first before assuming either way before any of the evidence is all in, and known to all.
May he rest in peace.
