A Washington State teen was arrested from outside her ex-boyfriend's house after her parents notified police about concerning notes she allegedly left in her journal about a planned shooting.

Trinity Morley, 19, is facing several charges, including attempted murder, in connection with the July 27 incident in Maple Valley, Wash., the King County Sheriff's Office said in a statement.

Morley is held on $500,000 bail, with prosecutors noting her unsettling demeanor post-arrest, including smiling and making light of the situation.

prosecutors say Morley admitted she intended to kill her ex-boyfriend and then force a fatal confrontation with police. She reportedly told deputies she was upset after rape allegations she filed against him in May did not lead to charges. That case was closed by police as unfounded.

According to the documents, Morley's parents filed for an extreme risk protection order (ERPO) for their daughter on July 18.

According to prosecutors, Morley was unable to obtain the shotgun she purchased due to a "cool-down" period required by Washington state law. The ERPO also halted the final sale of the shotgun. Morley told her current boyfriend that she was purportedly receiving "threatening texts from an unknown number," so he lent her his shotgun to use for self-defense.
