According to the Kitsap County Sheriff's Office, the Gig Harbor man admitted to killing Sero Wednesday morning. He was booked into the Kitsap County Jail on suspicion of first-degree murder and the South Kitsap man was also booked on suspicion of first-degree murder.

Sero's whereabouts are still in unknown.

His family said they believe he was abducted from a gas station in Port Orchard near the intersection of Southeast Lund Avenue and Jackson Avenue Southeast. His loved ones filed a missing person report to the Port Orchard Police Department on Oct. 20, and he was entered into the national and statewide databases as a missing person. After further review, the sheriff’s office began leading the investigation.

A 19-year-old Gig Harbor man turned himself into KCSO Detectives on Thursday evening and admitted to killing TYRONE SERO early Wednesday morning in South Kitsap county. He was ultimately booked into the Kitsap County Jail for 1st Degree Murder.

Detectives quickly and carefully reviewed a large amount of information, including the surveillance video that was obtained from the area of Kitsap Community Resources. This video confirmed SERO was last seen at about 12:40 am Wednesday morning getting into a silver Toyota 4Runner which sped off out of the parking lot.

Prior to contacting this person, he turned himself in to KCSO Detectives and fully admitted his involvement in the killing. He is continuing to cooperate with Detectives.
Says Sheriff John Gese, “I am very thankful for the efforts of our Detectives and the partnership we share with the community and outside agencies that have been instrumental in this investigation. This is a tragic incident. Our investigators are working hard to identify those people responsible and hold them accountable.”

RIP Tyrone. Such a sad, senseless situation. Tyrone was so young and just getting started at life. I wonder if the perp turned himself in because he knew there was too much surveillance and he would be caught, or if someone was after him afterward, or if he actually felt some remorse?

Is that a gang sign in that picture? I can't help but wonder if drugs were involved...

I was thinking the same thing. I worked in Gig Harbor years back. Very wealthy area, at least 10 years ago.

It just means "westside". It is doubtful he was a gang member, but certainly drugs could be involved.

A gunfight at the suspects house, in a stolen car no less? These people are all crazy. No wonder Tyrone fell into that lifestyle. The suspects story should be easy enough to verify as the bullet or hole from Tyrone's gun (assuming he had one) should be easy to find if it was fired from inside the car. MOO.

Kitsap County investigators said Tyrone connected with Stephens on Snapchat, agreeing to sell Stephens marijuana. They decided to meet outside of the Kitsap Community Resources building in Port Orchard earlier in the week. Surveillance cameras outside of the building captured their meeting.

Investigators said the surveillance video shows Tyrone getting into the front passenger seat of a silver car and was pulled to the back seat. Stephens, Talent, and a third suspect were in the car. Court documents said Tyrone was kidnapped and shot dead almost instantly after getting into the car.

From there, the three suspects drove to an undeveloped piece of property in Mason County near Matlock. Courts documents said the suspects burned Tyrone’s body at that site for several hours and then left. Stephens told investigators he went back to the burn site the next day by himself and put what was left of Tyrone’s remains into three separate bags. The suspect dumped two of the bags in a nearby river and kept the third bag containing Tyrone’s bones. Stephens then went home in Pierce County.

Investigators said Stephens agreed to show them where he disposed of the remains in the river, as well as Tyrone’s clothes and a gun he was accused of having. Stephens also told detectives the bag containing Tyrone’s bones was in the trunk of his car. Investigators also said they found the suspected silver car used during the kidnapping parked at a grocery store in Gig Harbor with blood inside.

The next court hearings for Stephens and Talent were scheduled for November 10. Investigators are actively searching for the third suspect involved.

Third suspect identified in death of 19-year-old from Port Orchard

Kitsap County prosecutors charged Eli Malcolm Gregory with accomplice to first-degree murder in connection with the death of Tyrone Sero, with Kitsap County sheriff's investigators alleging Gregory was in the SUV when Sero was seen leaving an AM/PM in Port Orchard early Wednesday and helped dispose of Sero’s remains in Mason County.

Detectives said Sero had intended to sell a pound of marijuana. As of Tuesday morning, Gregory was not in custody.

Detectives connected Gregory to Sero’s death after a witness said he knew Gregory, as he had employed him before, and Gregory had come to his residence at some point last week saying he needed a ride “to the woods to dispose of pants used in a homicide,” detectives wrote.

The witness said he told Gregory to “kick rocks” and get off his property, according to detectives.

Further, days before the request for a ride to the woods, the witness said Gregory had come to him asking for money, saying he had been ripped off of $1,500 in a deal for cocaine and marijuana.
