The remains were actually found November 27th, 1978. NamUs has that wrong. The article snipped appeared in the news on Tuesday, November 28th, 1978 and references the finding a day earlier. The Bellingham Herald.

Identified as Marla Jean Thomas, 22. Does not seem to have been picked up by the media yet.

I only found the one article in the newspaper but I only look at newspapers.com. Others with other members should look using the keywords found in the article. Marla was my top guess for the Jane Doe and I published my blog post just two months ago. I wonder if someone read it and that filtered the investigation in the right direction. But only 29 clicks on the article, but you never know. Honestly, it would be nice to know if the blog post helped but I know it takes more than a blog post.
