A woman's body has been found in a small lake in White Center.

The sheriff's office says the body was found in Mallard Lake near the Coronado Springs apartment complex.

Deputies do not have an identity or age of the victim. Police aren't sure how the woman died, but say it looks like she's been there a few days.

"We believe it's a female, possibly a black female," said West. "We have to treat it as a homicide at this point...What we'll do is investigate the scene, have the medical examiner come out and determine cause of death. Then we'll have a better idea of what happened."

"It could have been a drowning, it could be as simple as a heart attack or it could be a homicide," said West. "Again, we have to treat it as a homicide at this point."

Police said nobody has told them about anyone who has gone missing from the complex recently.
