Corey Burke considered the bloody rampage – in which she allegedly strangled, bit and hacked her 67-year-old father in the $800,000 Seattle home they shared – to be an “act of liberation,” charging documents allege.

Why is the gender identity of her spouse, or trumps election, relevant to the story? Typical NYPost garbage

Edit: the election may have been relevant, but her wifes gender identity and background isnt. Besides that, I stand by my statement.

Liberation? Is that consistent with the ideology that the Menendez brothers were justified in killing their parents because the latter were sex offenders?

She "strangled, bit and hacked" her father to death because she needed liberation? Liberation from what? How was she oppressed by her father?

This sounds like a straight forward murder where someone killed her father because he didn't agree with her. I suppose "liberation" is related to identity and politics ... the "liberation" motive.

I won't go near the trans or political aspects of this story, but the act itself was savage and evil.
May the father rest in peace...

The age of 33 is rather late in life for a possible mental illness to suddenly come up.

I get you, but a descent into psychosis is possible at any age

King County prosecutors charged Corey Lizette Burke, 33, with the murder of her father, Timothy Burke, 67, after they got into an argument over household lights on Nov. 5. She is being held on a $2 million bail.

According to charging documents from the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, Corey started arguing with her father after he insisted on keeping lights on, which escalated when Burke allegedly decided she “needed to do something” about him.
[snip]
During her interview with detectives, she admitted to the killing, describing feeling overwhelmed by her relationship with her father and recounting that she “freaked out” during their argument.

literally had nothing to do with election or either candidate or LGBTQ.

Why is your news source ignoring or obscuring the connection of this murder to election day?

As I read it, there didn't seem to be a connection other than the 2 things happened on the same day.

Yes it was written that way. You don't see the connection because the journalist omitted it.

From the linked article:
"got into an argument over household lights on Nov 5" No further info to explain how an absurd issue might escalate into an axe murder and no reminder that Nov 5 was election day.

"feeling overwhelmed by her relationship with her father" Stated and possibly misconstrued without citation. Average reader would probably become more confident to see this as a typical domestic violence situation.

No mention of time of crime. The whole lights out issue could only logically occur as night fell. 911 call was about 8 pm.

At 8pm seattle, 10pm central, results below:
9:20 p.m.: Harris wins District of Columbia. Trump 198, Harris 112.

9:39 p.m.:
Trump wins Kansas. Trump 204, Harris 112.

9:40 p.m.:
Trump wins Iowa. Trump 210, Harris 112.

9:45 p.m.: Harris wins one electoral vote in Maine. Trump 210, Harris 113.

10 p.m.: Trump wins Idaho. Harris wins California and Washington. Trump 214, Harris 179.
