Circumstances of Disappearance​

William McKinnon had been hiking on Church Mountain in the Mount Baker area of the North Cascades National Park with three others, including his roommate, on February 14, 1993. After reaching the 4,200-foot level and encountering snow, William decided to stay behind. He told his friends that he would either wait for them there or head back to the parking lot. When they returned, he was no where to be seen.

When the group returned to the location where Bill stopped, he was not there. The group assumed he had returned to the car or back to the road to hitchhike home. Bill was not seen again. >>

Reading the article in the above post makes me consider the possibility that he may have left voluntarily, which could explain why he was never located in the original area. Thinking wildly outside the box here, it is possible that the destination was Canada, (only a few miles to the border) and ultimately Québec, where his French language skills would have been useful. That line of thought is reinforced by the resemblance to a John Doe found there in 1999, who also appears to have a potential connection to the United States, given that he was wearing a Miami Heat top.

Would be nice to get some better quality pictures of William regardless....
