Whall said the stranger turned his attention to the crossbow and asked to buy it. Whall said he sold it to him for £180 and put the money towards buying a second crossbow.

Whall volunteered information about another crossbow he bought and sold later DCI Kearney agrees. It was to a stranger who had come to purchase a caravan.

Whall said another stranger came back, the day after the caravan was sold to the first stranger - and he bought the crossbow from Whall. DCI Kearney confirms this

So , if I understand this correctly -

Stranger A comes to look at the caravan.
At a later date, Stranger B comes to look at the caravan but instead, he decides to buy the crossbow. From the way the initial statement read, it sounded as though Stranger B bought the crossbow there and then. ie: while the caravan was still in situ.
But the final statement says that Stranger B came back, the day after the caravan had been sold, and then purchased the crossbow.

I don't know why , but something about that sounds odd.

Whall said you had to use a cocking rope but it was hard to do and you had to use your foot. The crossbow came with a few bolts, he says - possibly four.

1h

October 23 17 inch bolts was ordered and paid for from Amazon. Whall fired a couple of them - but he had not targets at the time would have been at “punch bag or pallets or anything that was there.”

1h

He confirms the punch bag was used as target practice in front of hay bales. Otherwise the bolt would just disappear into the hay bale.

1h

Whall confirms he purchased other bolts with broad-heads. He was going to get a new crossbow.

1h

Whall says he got rid of the big crossbow at the end of January/early February. He was outside shooting it and he thought the same person who bought a caravan off his landlord previously, had come to the house, but it wasn’t.

1h

Whall said he was firing the crossbow and this second stranger came up the lane, got out of a car, asked about buying Whall’s van - he didn’t want to sell that. They talked about the crossbow and he bought it for £180.

On March 1, he bought a “tactical pistol” handheld crossbow - better for children - but “a bit boring for them”. Then he bought the Excalibur crossbow - ordered online April 11 and delivered on April 23/24.

1h

Whall said that was the crossbow police originally come round for. They said they knew it had been ordered and arrived after the date of Mr Corrigan’s shooting.

1h

Whall said he had ordered bolts before to make sure the crossbow could have something to fire.

59m

Whall said he was “looking into crossbows more”. The bolts bought on April 7 were for the Excalibur - he ordered 20 inch bolts, but the crossbow fired 16 inch. He said he put them on the side or in the shed.

58m

The bolts that didn’t fit would have been put in the bin or taking to the tip. He did not have another crossbow that could use those bolts, Whall said.

57m

Whall said they had throwing knives as well and was teaching the children to use them. He had them for years.

Throwing knives would take place in the garden outside or at a cardboard box in the training room downstairs.

54m

A martial arts training dummy was bought by Whall. It was used for demonstration purposes “a training aid”.

53m

The week leading up to the shooting of Mr Corrigan. Whall confirms his partner went on holiday abroad with her parents and two children.

52m

They went for a week. Whall said things between him and Emma - they had an argument the night before about her going on holiday. The relationship was 90% good but “there were some problems”

51m

Whall was in the house that week. There had been no intention for him to go on the holiday. He messaged Emma back and forwards. He couldn’t work because his knee had been terrible “I couldn’t stand at the table” “That’s why I cancelled so many clients.”

50m

His knee had a ligament issue and was in the middle of getting a referral for an MRI and wanted an operation.

49m

April 17 2019. Whall says he had been to Gof Du “very briefly with Gavin Jones”. Doesn’t remember the exact dates but maybe within the month “to look for someone” - “Richard Wyn Lewis”.

48m

They went in the Land Rover he said. “Gavin had to see him to pick some wages up” he called but didn’t answer the phone so they checked there. At that point he had never met Mr Lewis or had anything to do with him he confirms.

47m

Before April 17 Whall said he knew Gavin Jones was working for Mr Lewis “mucking out horses” and “some building work” - that was a bungalow he said.

47m

Trial adjourned for lunch. Resuming at 2pm.

On March 1, he bought a “tactical pistol” handheld crossbow - better for children - but “a bit boring for them”.

So he did possess a crossbow at the time of GC's killing

Then he bought the Excalibur crossbow - ordered online April 11 and delivered on April 23/24.

He bought the bolts before he bought the Excalibur ? I hope we hear from the stranger who purchased the original heavy crossbow.

3m

“I was going to sit on the rocks and meditate”. It’s on the coastal path.

1m

He drove to Porthdafarch Beach and have a walk and “sit for a bit”. He didn’t want to leave his car on the drive at Gof Du after seeing the white car.

At Porthdafarch Beach, he parks there. He was on his own. Then he walked very slowly “my knee was bad” up the path to rocks that face towards the lighthouse. He went to a cliff edge “for the energy” doing Tai Chi. Been to cliff edges 200 times on Anglesey.

22m

It wasn’t an easy walk. He was quite upset with Emma and he was going to call Barry to see if he wanted to come - but didn’t. He went back to the car and then drove home.

20m

Thursday April 18. There were messages backwards and forwards with Emma and trying to get hold of Barry. He wanted to see him, if he wanted to come out at night.

19m

He got hold of Barry, Whall said. He arranged to come over to him that night “We were going to go out that night and do what we did before” “the sexual activities we have done before.

18m

Whall says he still kept in touch with Barry. “He knew I was quite bad and quite down about my son going away and we became close again.” That was within a couple of weeks. He came to my house that evening driving his white van about 10.30pmish.

17m

Whall said he made him a coffee, They didn’t finish them before leaving the house after 10 minutes. They drove to Porthdafarch Beach in the white Land Rover.

16m

14m

They parked at Porthdafarch Beach and they got the bag out the boot and went slowly up the path. “I couldn’t go very fast because of my knee.”

13m

Whall said at one point Barry put the bag down and they went to kiss for a bit, but Whall said they needed to go further up and went to an open field.

12m

Whall said he showed Barry a place where they could go. They put the bag down. “I don’t reall like kissing men. I prefer kissing women. Barry is very suspicious.” He doesn’t use toothpaste didn’t want to kiss him.

“It was awkward that night” I realised that once I got there I wanted to sort things out with Emma.

10m

8m

Whall said he took some pictures of Mr Williams and the view around the time. They were sexual pictures.

7m

The photos were taken on his iPhone, Whall said.

6m

The walk back was quieter on the way back. “ I was quite down and disappointed with myself,” Whall said. “I wanted to have a go at him, but I had initiated it.”

4m

They got back in the Land Rover and he told Barry he was going to get rid of the phone. He said his second wife caught him having an affair through his iPhone. She managed to find deleted messages.

3m

Whall worried if Emma found the iPhone she would know what had happened, but it was playing up already. He got rid of it that night. He stamped on it or threw a brick on it or both.

2m

They got back to Whall’s home and he left soon after. “It was awkward”. Whall had two other phones he could use.

2m

Whall used a 177 number to message Emma and told her his other phone had broken for good. He tried to call Mr Williams to say it would never happen again.
