Police in Texas are responding to an armed suspect who is believed to have been holding a baby hostage at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Waxahachie, officials and witnesses say. Only few details were immediately available. (more)

FOR LIVE UPDATES: Twitter, Facebook The incident began at around 6:45 p.m. CT on Saturday when police received reports that a suspect with a gun was inside the hospital's emergency room. Witnesses reported that the suspect held the gun to a baby's head, but it is believed the hostage has since been released. The 33-year-old former soldier who served in Iraq was charged with one count of making a terroristic threat, one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and one count of trying to take a gun from an officer.

According to a witness, he calmly told the 20-25 people inside to leave immediately
