It's seems so strange DM and MB mention being an alcoholic at this point. Man sleeping with blood on his pillow doesn't say alcoholic like a slip on the stairs or floor even...Wonder why they seem to think it is pertinent.
I believe we've heard that it was the EMS person who, after hearing WM abused alcohol, suggested the blood could have been "from his throat". What he's referring to is hemorrhage secondary to esophageal varices that people who have more cirrhosis may have. These hemorrhages are not typically spontaneous, but rather would more likely bleed/hemorrhage in the context of an increase in the intraluminal pressure that would come with vomiting. Esophageal varices are really a complication of uncompensated cirrhosis...WM would have been a pretty sick man had this been the case. Nonetheless, to me it seems like a widely unprofessional comment for an EMS paramedic to make given he knew nothing of WM's medical history other than the comment that DM and MB made about his alcohol abuse.

Something that I was just thought about when you mentioned LB....I think that he shot LB. Whether it was practice for WM or not, I'm not sure. Either way, I think it was likely a relatively clean shot, and easy to clean up from. This gave him confidence. When he killed his father it was also relatively clean, the bullet was lodged in his brain. If he hadn't left him there afterwards there probably wouldn't have been nearly as much blood down the side of the mattress and onto the floor. I think when he killed TB he realized that he made a big mistake because that turned out to be VERY messy and basically ruined the truck, which I doubt he was going for since he wanted to actually use the truck after. I can imagine how mad he would have been after he did that. That is probably why MS said he looked like a raging lunatic on the side of the road. Sorry, a little off topic but just a stream of thoughts I had.

ETA: I was reading an interesting article about sociopaths the other day and it was talking about how sociopaths don't experience emotions the same way that most people do, however they do experience the most primitive of emotions such as anger and rage. I'm not an expert but my impression is that they are fairly level emotionally all of the time unless they just snap.

MOO

This seems very logical and likely. LB may even have been shot with the same gun as WM, hence he would know how the gun and bullet react when shooting someone on the bed. So that would explain ditching the mattress after LB but no exit holes anywhere in the room.

But after WM he had to use a different gun, with a different result obviously. Appears there was definitely an exit with that gun.

Hi Kamille (and all) - I will take over the tweets this afternoon.

Thanks Velma, I'm heading out in about 15 minutes.

I'm wondering how much of that difference in perspective had to do with both experience and bias. Bias comes in many, many forms and all the professionals at the scene may have been impacted by bias to some degree. Being caucasian, well-spoken and reasonably articulate, residing in a leafy, affluent suburb with another supporting family member on scene etc...could all stack up to create bias even in a seasoned professional.

There was a reason he called MB, AM and possibly JS to surround himself during this IMO.

So now that detective Hutcheon and Johnston are off the stand, does this mean they successfully managed to keep MB's interview out of this trial?

DM says WM would go through a 40 oz-er in two weeks?? And this was a raging alcoholic?? Not to diminish the problems that come with alcoholism which have nothing to do with amounts, but he also said that his dad only drank late at night - nothing in the day. So an old lonely guy living with his dysfunctional adult son wants to drink 3oz of whiskey at night and this is a problem? jmo

My thoughts exactly .... a 40 ouncer in 2 weeks could almost be considered a moderate drinker , certainly not a raging alcoholic.

Bevilacqua says the coroner showed him where the gun was -- between the bed and a dressed. He says it was a revolver. He says he never saw anyone touch the gun. #Millard

He says he didn't the bag or the gun on his initial trip into the bedroom where Millard's body was found. #Millard

Lockhart asks if the officer had any suspicions as to what happened to Wayne Millard. He says no, he didn't. He also wasn't sure how he died. #Millard

This is the first time I've heard WM had oxycodone for pain relief (Johnson said other officers at the scene told her: AC tweets) Wonder if we're going to find out if he had a prescription for them? I had previously heard of his other meds- but not this one, which now has me thinking that DM may have actually drugged him. LE knew that for a reason, and IMHO, it was to explain the presence of oxy in his system if they were to do a blood test. I think enough Oxy with booze could have put him out like a light, maybe even comatose and they'd never be questioned by LE. MOO
HI MsSherlock; I believe what we initially heard was that there vials of prescriptions meds in WM's name on his dresser. Those meds included: Tylenol #2s (which is acetaminophen and 15mg of codeine each tab), baclofen (an antispasmodic or muscle relaxant) and Percocet (which is oxycodone 5mg and acetaminophen 325mg in each tab). Percocet is just the brand name of oxycodone.

I came to the same conclusion as many others here regarding the police interview .... way too much detail volunteered by Dellen ... police will say that indicates a fabricated story or is setting up a false alibi.

Innocent people give sometimes poor and even jumbled answers when being truthful .... a guilty person is much more careful and includes a lot of unnecessary details.

And what did he mean by WM switching to 8-10 little wine bottles instead of whiskey? Was he taking about wine coolers? And what young person uses the term "whiskey"? Was DM really that ignorant about alcoholic beverages after all his parties?

I did count 4 bottles of water on WM's dresser. And a couple of bottles that could have been alcohol.

Bevilacqua says he later spoke with Millard and Burns about the gun after it was found. Burns says she knew her ex-husband to have owned guns, but didn't know if there were any still in the home. #Millard

Bevilacqua says Dellen Millard told him that night there might be a bag with a gun in it in the basement of the home. #Millard

Bevilacqua says he and some other officers went down to the basement and looked around. He noticed the walls were all painted black, and there were gaming units attached. He also noticed "drug paraphernalia lying around" and a "green leafy substance" in the fireplace. #Millard

RSBM. I'm not being a smarta**, but what other term would he use for whiskey? I'm around the same age as DM and I'd call it whiskey.

Bugsy Siegel
I've checked. The scene is from the original Godfather. The character's name was Moe Greene and in developing the character, Puzo based him in part on Bugsy Siegel.

I've always called Canadian Club "rye", as in "rye and coke". Other types usually by their name, like Jack Daniels etc.
