Then how would he have gotten to the house to greet DM the next day? That's my point. This is an extremely important issue and the Crown just glazed over it. There has to be a reason for that.

MOO
well DM could have lied about the greeting, and could have just had it with him already from his sleepover date.

I want to know what time DM got back to MS’s after his date.

Me too. Because the girlfriend testified she talked on the phone to WM until 3am iirc.

Such a curious thing, if he brought Pedo and also left him at the scene..ugh. Maybe just a lie to sound like everyday people.
That is the problem when you try to manufacture a story. You can easily come up with the major events, its the little details that happen in between that will trip you up every time.

DM has not claimed that gun as a gift in this trial.
Too many trials and info to keep straight. Gawd! Thanks for putting it straight.

That's true. Why he would do this is odd but it could have just been a slip up on his part when being questioned. He was describing what it's usually like when he comes home and enters the side door when Pedo has been left at home. But then again, they say that Pedo was always with him. So it was just an odd thing to say if it wasn't true I guess.

I noticed that as well, but I think it's a bath towel. It definitely looks like someone was sitting on it, but more than that, what stood out to me was seeing a pink bath towel in an elderly, single man's house. It just seems out of place. Like the Lululemon shopping bag(s).

I immediately wondered about a Lululemon shopping bag too. I know they sell menswear but I immediately think of yoga pants when I hear that brand. Then again, the question is what else was in the bag if anything as we all reuse bags and could have reused one of DM's bags.

Here's something that bugs me. So far, everyone has testified that they didn't pick up the gun, just that the bag was pulled out from in between the bed and the dresser. However, if you look at the pic with WM blurred, you can see that the bag is standing upright. The other pic shows the bag sort of crumpled with the gun laying on the side of the bag - but it's been said that pic of the gun on the bag is exactly how it was found.

Something is clearly off here.

I seem to recall an officer saying something like he pulled the bag out a little to peer in and that is when he saw a gun handle. So it makes sense if that's the case.

We're back. Millard's lawyer, Ravin Pillay, is now cross-examining Meneses. He starts off by listing the other trials Meneses has testified in against Millard. #Millard

Adam Carter‏Verified account @AdamCarterCBC 6m6 minutes ago
Pillay says she has given lots of statements to police. "You understood there were consequences if you didn't tell the truth, correct?" Pillay asks. "Correct," Meneses responds. #Millard

Adam Carter‏Verified account @AdamCarterCBC 6m6 minutes ago
"You've lied many times under oath, correct?" Pillay asks. "Yes, but I corrected myself after," Meneses responds. Pillay says that today she lied under oath. "I never lied today," she says. #Millard

Pillay now bringing up the gun - she testified about seeing it with Millard. "Im going to suggest you lied to her honour about what you knew about that gun," Pillay
says. #Millard

"The truth is, you held that gun in your hand," Pillay says. "Not that one," Meneses responds. #Millard

Pillay says she didn't testify here about any other guns. She says that's correct. Cameron begins to object, but then says "I'll save it." #Millard

Pillay now showing this photo. "That's the gun I saw in Dellen's bedroom." #Millard

Pillay says she held this gun at Millard's farm and fired it there. Meneses says no, that was another gun. Pillay is now taking her to a transcript from the Laura Babcock trial. #Millard

Adam Carter‏Verified account @AdamCarterCBC 2m2 minutes ago
This was from when Millard cross-examined her. He acted as his own lawyer in that trial. #Millard

Millard had been asking her about wanting to shoot a gun at a shooting range, Pillay says. She says that's correct. #Millard

"I'm going to suggest Mr. Millard put this gun on the screen when he was cross-examining you at the Laura Babcock trial," Pillay says. Meneses says no, "it was the black one." #Millard

Adam Carter‏Verified account @AdamCarterCBC now17 seconds ago
Meneses says yes, she drove to the farm and fired a gun. "You lied to the jury at the Laura Babcock case about having fired that particular gun," Pillay says. "Correct," Meneses responds. #Millard

WELL! Good to see they can use comments from previous trials!?!!

Only the defense can do this I believe. But I also think the Crown can re-cross when they do?

Meneses says again the gun Millard was referring to at the Babcock trial "was the black gun," not this one. #Millard

Meneses says this gun is "the old school gun" she was talking about in her testimony. #Millard

"This is an old school kind of gun, right?" Pillay says Millard refers to in the transcript from the Babcock trial. He then says Meneses said yes. #Millard

I suspected they would go after MM's credibility from previous trials and statements. What have they got to lose? They have a judge only trial because of the notoriety of the previous 2 trials. It's not like the judge isn't aware of that.

I have a random thought and question....when you refer to the time 6:30pm, do you not refer to it as evening, rather than afternoon? Do any of you say it was 6:30 in the afternoon? Or would you say that it was odd that Dellen referred in the interview that "it was odd, that his dad would be in bed in the afternoon" (paraphrased) It made it sound to me in my mind he had been there earlier in the day, "afternoon" and did not actually find him as he says at 6:30 in the evening.... I usually use 5pm and after as evening, where 4pm is still considered afternoon......

This from a young person who stays up half the night. I'm not sure differentiating from afternoon to evening matters. I know a young person who sometimes has breakfast at 4 pm. What does matter is that he would think it was odd as he already had told police his dad had been bedridden a lot due to a back injury. It was his lame excuse for checking on WM.

His Dad had been bedridden about 6-9 months before IIRC. So yes, it would be odd to see him in bed, covers pulled up in a sleeping position at 6:30pm when he was no longer bedridden all day and night I suppose.

Pillay again says that Meneses testified at the Babcock trial that she fired the "old school" gun. "I thought he was talking about 'a' gun," Meneses says, in court now. #Millard

Adam Carter‏Verified account @AdamCarterCBC 1m1 minute ago
"I got confused, I thought he was talking about the black gun ... there's so many guns in this whole thing, how am I supposed to remember which one?" Meneses says. #Millard

Adam Carter‏Verified account @AdamCarterCBC 2m2 minutes ago
"He kept trying to twist my words ... I thought he was talking about the black gun." She's now getting a bit more flustered, her voice is rising. #Millard

Pillay is now calling back to statements she gave to police from the Tim Bosma case. #Millard

Adam Carter‏Verified account @AdamCarterCBC 45s46 seconds ago
"I never misled the police," Meneses says. #Millard

The crux of all this is Pillay is trying to prove Meneses is not a trustworthy witness. That would call into question her evidence here. #Millard

Adam Carter‏Verified account @AdamCarterCBC 15s16 seconds ago
Pillay says in Meneses' first statement to police, she never saw any guns that Millard or Smich might have had. "But you lied?" Pillay says. "I was young," Meneses responds. #Millard

Adam Carter‏Verified account @AdamCarterCBC now30 seconds ago
Meneses is now asking for a transcript to follow. Pillay is obliging. #Millard
