one point that i was clear on as well is the 911 tape. I have heard arguements both way about whether burke's voice can be heard at the end of the tape. I have yet to get a definitive answer..
Steve Thomas, one of the lead detectives in the case, as well as others on the Boulder Police Department have heard the enhanced tape with Burke's voice on it.

When Mary Lacy released the 911 call to the public it was not the enhanced version therefore it was impossible to hear Burke's voice. Some even claim the tape was erased at the end to make sure we didn't hear Burke's voice.

Perfect Murder Perfect Town and Inside the Ramsey Murder Investigation both have extensive sections on the 911 call.

Unless you are willing to call some very upstanding people out and out liars then you can accept what they say. Burke is on the end of the 911 tape.

Anniegirl,

Please don't feel like we are jumping on you for what you posted.

The only thing I want to see is the truth and Smit does not speak the truth. He doesn't use facts.

If he can back up what he says with solid information then I'll listen to him.

By the way, did you notice how they cut Smit from going through the window to his feet touching the floor. They did not show the whole process of him going through the window. You have to ask yourself why.
Tricia, in no way do i feel like you or anyone is jumping on me- I appreciate all your information and everyone else's info and opinions.:blowkiss:

Like a lot of you I've lay awake in bed at night wracking my brain over what happen to that child. I hate that who did this will likely never pay.

I can't remember the other detective who agreed with Smit's theroy on the program- he was an older guy and didnt seem to be in very good health. They told of Smit's record of solving a lot of cold cases, etc. really put effort into making him look credible- but that "Back to the Future " car he drives up in makes it all seem fictional to some point..lol:laugh:

Again, I appreicate all the information, yes, the information the show provided made me think"hmmmm..." but i am staying open minded as i continue to ponder the truth.. which we;'ll all likely never know :(

To the postor who ask- Yes, Smit did say in the interview that fibers found on Jonbenet were fibers from inside the suitcase lining but he obviously left out all the other fiber information!

p.s. I apoligize for my typo on spelling of murder in thread topic line.

I watched this special last night, it was very interesting and up to date even as far as reporting Patsy's death in June and John Mark Karr fiasco in August.

It's chilling seeing some of Smitt's evidence and how very well lays out the fact that indeed it was possible that an intruder couldve gotten in the house- the way the guest room bed ruffle was disturbed as if someone had been under the bed, the unexplained rope in the guest room ( a room next to Jonbenet's bedroom) the view of the garage from the bedroom window;to see when the Ramsey's arrived home-

I found it interesting, too ,that the suitcase in the basement , the one by the window , fibers from inside that suitcase match fibers found on Jonbenets clothing, hinting Smit believes the intruder tried to get Jonbenet out that window in that suitcase and he believes couldnt therefore leaving her there to assualt and murder.

Im wondering did anyone else see this program? Not sure when it comes back on, but i'm sure it will again soon.. here's link to the program on We channel.

My old computer crashed so I can't back this up.
Years back PR said she decorated JR's oldest son's Christmas (guest room)tree in a western theme and she used pope for garland. Some of the old timers may remember this.

She also said the rope that was found could have been some left over rope. She DIDN'T say what she did with the left over rope.

I wonder if she just kicked it under the bed?

Am I correct that on the end of the 911 call Burke can be heard asking, "What did you find?" and John answered, "We were not talking to you"? It doesn't sound like John was too happy with him. I wonder if Burke was referring to their finding the ransom note.

The ransom note is so opposite from the murder. It threatens to kill (behead) JonBenet if anyone is informed of the kidnapping, yet poor JonBenet's murder was, or was made to look like, a pedophile did it. A kidnapper kidnaps for money, whereas a pedophile abuses young children for sex. Wouldn't the ransom note have been more believable if it coincided with the type of murder?

If someone is kidnapped, they could be tied up and bound with duct tape. I just don't get where the garrote thing comes in.

Re: the 911 call and voices at the end,is it just me,or is BR's voice just barely audible on this one? I swear I hear (listen closely) "what did you find", at the end, with the word 'find' almost being cut off.(I got this off another forum; it is supposed to be enhanced, altho I can hear PR's voice better in the unenhanced one.Maybe because she was closer, and BR was further away?). www.jameson245.com/tape3.mp3

Thanks for the link Tricia- I had already read those and I know that it isn't stun gun marks. Just curious as to what they are-that is why I was thinking out loud about marks that scabs healing make.

For that srawny little man Lou Smit could barely squeeze himself through this window, and still he wants people to believe that a suitcase plus intruder could go through it? Priceless.

It was pretty funny. That was the straw that broke this camel's back.

From your mouth to Odin's ears, calicocat! That's what the Feds said.

Okay, I watched this documentary yesterday. Did anyone besides me find the commentators voice bizzare? I found it so distracting. I kept wondering if the female voice was computerized or real. I believe Smit belives his theory. He shows enough questionable evidence to put doubt on the Ramseys guilt. So I guess it is appropriate at this time a court of law has not found them guilty. However, although that evidence may establish reasonable doubt it in no way vindicates the Ramseys in my mind. The reasonable doubt in my opinion is far outweighted by the guilty evidence.
Other then flat stanley or Gumby no one could climb out that window with a suitcase.
That in my opnion is the weakest claim of Smit's and if I was working to prove the Ramsey's guilt I would concentrating on breaking down that claim.

What gets my goat is the fact that Lou Smit gets away with the picture of the basement window wide-open, as if it were discovered that way. That picture alone is convincing of an intruder to people who do not know the case inside out.

I agree! It is very deceiving!

I watched the show over the weekend and once again was amazed at the naivety. However, they did show some nice shots of Boulder and the surrounding roads, etc. that I have never seen before. I have always wanted to see footage of someone turning onto the road the Ramsey's lived on and driving past so I could get a better idea of how the house is situated and the proximity of neighbors. I always hear that the houses are much closer than they appear on television. Of all the footage I have seen on this case I have never seen them do this. This show almost did.

Also, they showed some nice footage of the inside of the house particularly the kitchen. I am reminded of a thread on one of the old forums where they discussed the strangeness of some of the rooms in the home being so elaborate and others almost downright cheap looking. The kitchen is one of those to me. A mirrored wall? The drawer handles look like Walmart. I know it has been ten years but I thought that back then!

You know, this always strikes me when I see photos of the interior. Those cheap cabinets? In all the of the cheap rented apartments I have lived in I never saw those and to see them in a house of that 'caliber' seems odd. I wondered if it was a 'regional' thing? Does that sound odd? lol.

I used to work for a custom builder and even the cheapest of cabinets that clients used for their laundry rooms or bathrooms they didn't expect to get a lot of use were MUCH nicer. These homes were $400k +, depending on upgrades.
