On February 4th, 2010 Patrick McStay's son Joseph, his wife Summer and their two children Gianni (age 4) and Joseph Jr (age 3) literally seemed to disappear.
When authorities checked their house they found dinner on the table partially eaten. It looked like they unexpectedly stopped what they were doing and left.
Fast forward. The bodies of the McStays were found in the desert in 2013. A family friend, Chase Merrit is standing trial this fall for the McStay Murders.
Patrick McStay needs to be in that courtroom in San Bernadino to watch the trial of the man who took his family.
As we know from people like Sharon Rocha (who picked up her life and moved to a different city to watch the trial of her daughter Laci's killer, Scott Peterson) it is extremely expensive to try and move your life to a new city for a few months
and then move back home.
