Yeah, it felt like one of those moments where she knew she was going over a precipice.

Bingo! Like when you are at the top of a roller coaster, that pause right before it drops you down...that is the feeling I think she was having.

I am sure this has already been posted but what is the issue that ALV has to come back for on tuesday? Real life gets in the way and I havn't been able to read the post so any feedback would be welcomed..thanks in advance...
btw..I just watched the video this evening and I love that the judge doesn't want to hear about any of ALV personal problems..and I think that for once the judge speaks the truth!

I think what must have happened is that the reports kind of went sailing off Alyces desk in the chaotic way other experts reports sometimes fall, and they fell at her feet, and she saw a big picture of a closet, which corroborated what she thought she had heard Jodi say, and she had no other evidence to say it wasn't a closet, and then...she mispoke. ;)

Just quoting 1 of many hilarious posts that made me giggle like a 12 yr old girl today. The humour here at WS is at a very high level. thx for the relief of on crazy trial days :)

I seriously want to know what JA writes about all day..... she sure does an awful lot of writing.

I think she is writing a Book, as she plans to make $$$ somehow.

Also, since I am from Canada Here - we do not have the DP. For the very first time in MY life, I believe in the DP for JA. Why? Here is why:

  • She lied several times
  • All her action before, during, after...Now
  • Attending funeral, etc - Very Cold Blooded
  • All what she did to TA ---- the over-kill
  • Left his body to decompose
  • Injustice to a HUMAN BODY (Could she get more charges for this?)
  • Obstructing Justice (could she have these charges against her yet??)
  • All her actions
  • I do NOT support her having LIFE in Prision and being able to walk around daily, have a girlfriend, Tweet out, have Sex in jail, taking courses while in Jail, being a burden on Society
  • Cost to Taxpayers - abuse to the taxpayer for Court (IMHO)
  • To even keep breathing while TA is not.
  • She took away a person, his life
  • HE will never find love, marriage, experience life anymore, have children, or grow old, have grandchildren...everything. SHE took that away from him

Why should she breath, eat, educate herself, have sex, tweet, laugh at life even behind bars. Even be allowed to laugh/smile/read when she is in Jail. If she is in Jail for LIFE -- then I would like to see Solitary Confinement for like 22 hours per 24 hours a day!!

This time I DO support the DP!

I know, right?
Willmott was so visibly shaken after hearing those juror questions.
It's beyond weird that neither her or Nurmi had no clue that ALV's "expert testimony" was not going well.

All week they've been sitting there smiling and chit chatting like everything was going their way (and the disturbing whispering/hair petting between JA & Willmott).
But they sure seemed surprised that those jury questions were pretty much all doubtful of everything ALV's been up there spewing for days in end,

Seems obvious that it all sounded like biased bunk, but guess over in fairytale
land they thought things were going just swell.
Amazing. Glad that it sounds like the jury is able to see thru all the dirt that's been thrown out by the defense team.

Considering the tabs they keep on the media, maybe they started to buy the bunk peddled on HLN that the jury was surely put off by Juan's style with this witness and would be sympathetic to her.

There were actually commentators saying the jury would see her being bullied by Juan and project those feelings onto their feelings about Travis and his relationship with Jodi! How dumb they must think jurors are!
Anyway, maybe KN and JW chugged that kool aid.

I was just watching the Wilmott meltdown again ( several times, in fact) and yes she initially giggled, but then I think she was crying when she asked for a break

When was this? I wanna see...

Don't know why she was so surprised, she got to read the questions before they were ever asked. I think she was more stunned by the witnesse's answers

Nurmi seemed absolutely USELESS at the time. He should have done something to assist or to head things off at the pass. Imo, he could have handed her a note telling her to take a break or slow down or something. But he just sat there like a lump on a log. Some partner.

He's not sitting. He can't even get his chair up to the table. What he's doing in that chair is lounging. Heck we couldn't even sit like that in grade school and here he is in a court of law. Can't the judge order him to sit up straight?

Wow. Wonder what that was about?

Thank you for posting this, Softail, because I had missed it.

In what I know is my unfortunate habit of nit-picking, this was slightly different than I thought it was going to be. Yes, the judge is pretty stern with ALV, but I think the thing about "not being released from subpoena until I release you" actually relates to the fact that apparently there's going to be a phone conference on Monday and the judge could conceivably release her then and not have her come back.

And the "don't tell me your personal issues" sounded to me like the judge didn't want those on the record. On the other hand, she also said the trial takes priority and sounded like she wasn't interested in any weaseling out.

And the preparations ALV is supposed to make? Some people said that might mean ALV needs to get herself a lawyer. That seems quite possible. It also might refer to her getting a plane ticket & a hotel room. Or having some kind of information that she needs to back up something, a document or whathaveyou. Or all of the above.

What did somebody say? She's a speaker, not an expert? Sure proved that today.

Good point Schuby.
That makes sense ... They've had their minions tuned into HLN for feedback and actually believed those TH's that have been saying what a bully Juan is.

Juan is a champaign of justice to me ... For Travis and his family.

It should be.

I don't know how she's gonna sleep at night when she learns what she wasn't privy to

The problem with that, is she wasn't restricted as Juan brought out in testimony. She could have requested any and all material and required personal interviews. If the DT didn't like it, they could have hired someone else.

I have no personal axe to grind with ALV. I think she has done great things in educating LE and others on DV. But, this isn't her group, and by this I mean this court is not like her group who are probably there by court order. She can't just say my word is law and expect everyone to bow to her opinions. No one who wasn't living in a cave, could not have know this case was going to be under tremendous public scrutiny. At $250 an hour I would have expected her to watch Juan's prior trials and be prepared for his aggressive cross. Imo, she treated it like a contest between her and juan, but to be effective as a witness it is about coming across as a pro. No way should Juan have had to work so hard to get admissions to things that would have had little or not effect on her opinions. By fighting every little thing, she comes across as biased.

IMO willmont doesn't like to be told no. She likes to get her way and when she doesn't she comes off as whiny. IMO

BBM: I have yet to see that..didn't catch that...if anyone has it readily available I would greatly appreciate it =D.

You are all so wonderful for your thoughts and words. Thank you. I'm touched by your kindness.

I'm just going to post this picture of her as I knew her ... way back in 1999 at a fruit stand in the center of town. That smile is how she looked almost all the time.

Thank you for sharing with us InALandFarFarAway, she is beautiful!

Yeah, it felt like one of those moments where she knew she was going over a precipice.

The look on her face spoke 1000 words. It's almost as if she knew that was a huge mistake.

She seemed to look down and do a small nod, like, there, I said it.
