BBM: I agree with everything you said, but the BBM. We do not know that Travis was verbally abusive based on these text messages! Yes, he was abusive in this message, and may have had a damn good reason for being so upset! If someone hacked my phone, email, bank records, sent messages to other people pretending to be me, illegally violated my right to a private sex call, and threatened to use that as blackmail, I would NOT have been as calm as Travis!

I won't go into detail, but in the past, regarding a certain incident, I sent some well deserved scathing text messages to an individual. If someone only had my side of the conversation, they would convict me of murder, if the person was dead.

We do not have Travis's side of the story and quite frankly, given the circumstances so far, he was justified in his "tone" with JA. She WAS the worst thing that ever happened to him. :furious:

:moo:

A thank you was just not enough!

Ok, I guess my question then is how you define "temper," is it a quality in anyone who ever gets angry for any reason?

For me, I could see that Travis could get worked up over things. I base that on him getting upset about Jodi leaving something at his house. He seemed really upset, and that seemed to be a small thing to get that upset over. Warranted, I don't know anything behind it but what I read. He'd catch attitudes with Jodi in the texts, but again, I don't know what the outside factors are.

Even though I can detect that he seemed short-tempered with Jodi (justified or not), what I have noticed is that we have no written texts where Travis rants and rants, yet says to her, "I need to pop you in the mouth again," or something similar to threaten violence or to hint that he might be violent to her.

He never says, "Somebody needs to sock you in that smart mouth of yours," or anything else that might even hint that he could potentially be physically violent to her or has been in the past.

I think that's important because people talk a lot of smack when they are mad, and with all this so-called "ranting" we hear about, it would seem that somewhere in all these "thousands" of pages, some HINT to physical violence would have to be present. Even something like, "Remember what happened last time you did x, y, z?"

Also, there seems not to be any apologies from Travis for any kind of violence. Isn't that part of an abusive pattern? Him apologizing and making it right for her to come back for more?

but I'm an orgasm expert, not a DV expert, so I don't know. But I'm assuming that the DT pored over those documents, looking for any hint that could link to DV, and the best they have is Travis running off at the mouth--or fingers--when he was mad.

How about we trade every 6months? Agree, Mark is hot! :silly::silly:

I heart him, so I'm joining the custody arrangement! (Despite the fact that when I first professed my lust for him on here I called him "Mike." lol)

I still have one little unknown - Violette, when referring to the "Manifesto", said that Lisa "TOLD HER" that JA wanted to autograph it and get copies in case she became famous one day. How did this witness find out about JA wanting to sign this so-called manifesto?

Who is Lisa and how did this witness get this info?

Remember she kept using the word, pattern.

She was looking at intensity and frequency over time.

This is not a few events here and there.

IMO

Yawn....

It's only a pattern when it's to Travis's detriment.

And never ever a pattern when it could paint Jodi in a bad light.

You don't need physical abuse to be in a battering relationship. Alyce was very clear about that. It's also true.

That's what the whole character assassination discussion was about. Soul murder.

Battering in her continuum was one step above abuse and one step below terrorism.

IMO

The problem is that she used the texts, plus Arias' words, to corroborate that he WAS physically abusive. Had she came in and said, listen, I believe there's evidence of verbal abuse, that would be entirely different.

Don't forget that Arias' entire defense case rests on him PHYSICALLY attacking her.

THat was so bogus for ALV to contend that Travis was 'raging for hours on end.'

She has ZERO experience with emails, IM's and texts. So she does not understand how the 'social media' generation uses this medium.

I've watched how my kids do this. They will be FaceBooking, texting, listening to I-tunes, IM'ing several friends, and looking at Instagram, SIMULTANEOUSLY.

If my DD is arguing with her BF by text, it might span a few hours. But she is not sitting there fuming and ranting from 7pm until 10. She might send him an angry text, then talk about it on IM with her friend, send a funny picture to another friend on instagram, download a few songs, then look to see if he replied. She is not sitting there in a rage. This generation MULTI-TASKS.

But that is where ALV got this all wrong. She assumes that just because Travis sent the killer a laundry list of insults, that means that he was sitting at the computer, enraged, in an all consuming hatred, and he did nothing for hours but insult poor Jodi. She knows nothing about social media, and has admitted that many times under oath.
And where was the "pattern" there?

I'm convinced that ALV really did not think about what was going to happen when she testified. Today she said she hasn't testified in a lot of criminal trial (and I think by the end of the day, she said she hadn't testified in ANY), and a lot of us had been assuming she had some experience. Her talking to Samantha was a sign she just didn't get what was going on in the courtroom. Her trying to finish her answers after someone has called an objection sounds like somebody who just never thought about how she wasn't going to be able to drone on and on. Her inability to remember her glasses may be "cute" in an absent-minded professor kind of way, but made her look ... well, stupid. She doesn't accord the judge a lot of respect. All in all, she just seems out of her element.

I think she assumed it was going to be just like one of her talks. I also think her panic was caused, not by the internet attacks, but by her fear of JM.

JMO

IF she didn't realize how it was going to go fine, but when JM began his cross and she refused to even allow a possible, "well yes, she may have left some of that out", or "I can see Travis' side in this too" BUT she didn't. That will be the coffin in her Expert Career. Over, done, finished, bye bye!

Um, so even if she was verbally abused (and i do not believe that for a minute) you can't claim you brutally murdered someone for 'soul murder'.

BBM

What interviews? ALV saw no one but JA. Testimony yes, interviews no.

She didn't talk to anyone but Jodi.

She read interviews with these people that others had done and written up.

The fact is that 29 stab wounds, a slit throat, and a gun shot to the face is not self defense. That is what has to be decided. jmo

I feel the same. She deserves DP but as long as she is taken out of circulation, then it's a good outcome.

No. You can't claim that.

I know what the arguments will be but I'm not going to argue them here.

Cherry picked interviews. Like the one by the Hugh's after they were lied to by Nurmi. Remember that tid bit? Nurmi told them it was PROVEN Travis was a pedophile.
