I've been thinking about this statement and the previous sentence:

I WANT YOU TO UNDERSTAND HOW EVIL I THINK YOU ARE.

I can't imagine the horror of circumstances that would have moved Travis to make such statements. Without going into detail, there have been people in my life who hurt me and I'm sure it's true for almost everyone that we may have thought these things from time to time. But to say them to someone? What would that take?

Anyone willing to admit that they've made a similar statement and the situation underlying it?

Honest...I have.

I was with a guy for 8 years. He never hit me...but the mental abuse, and stalking me even if I went for a coffee by myself.

He WAS the worst thing in my life then....and STILL now. We broke up 10 years ago and he STILL drives by my place to *monitor* me, my son, my home....just anything.

I still look over my shoulder for him.....and yes I did go to the Police. It is frustrating because the Police here say they can't do much as a street is a public place.....and of course there is a store BY my place so he uses that as *an excuse* and buys something small BUT gets a receipt. So is he stalking me.....or just going to the Store.

The Police know about him....and know one of these days he will cross that line. I live with cardboard in my basement windows, I have a security camera, I monitor my home (like garden hoses, plants, etc) as it just *seems* something always happens when I go out -- even to the store.

He is just a taunter stalker type.....as after we broke up 10 years ago he just taunts me like I can not do anything. He is afraid of the law, and the Police have talked to him......but I never stop looking over my shoulder ...not in a knife type of way..............just can not shake him off.

He is more of a mental abuse type of stalker.

Eight years with him...and now 10 years apart. So I have had 18 years of this.....AND YES, HE IS THE WORST THING THAT EVER HAS HAPPENED TO ME.

I still have stuff that he did to me, or notes he wrote to me. I do not throw them away as just in case he crosses that line.....I still have all the proof.

It is a very long story, but just a bit here. It wears you down to the point that I am off-work myself. As you live with it every day!! He just taunts me by doing stupid things, but that destroys a person too after all this time.

Ironically I just got an email advertising a DVD (that I can watch for CEUs) on "Emotional Manipulators, Codependents, and the Human Magnet Syndrome." :magnet:

What the heck is the Human Magnet Syndrome?

I would suspect it isn't a verified account. Throughout her time on the stand she has both explicitly stated her lack of computer skills and also demonstrated it through not knowing the difference between IM's, texts, created the verb g-mailing IIRC, among other instances.

On the very off chance she did just create one, I don't see how any further 'cyber-bullying' could impact the trial as her testimony in front of the jury is complete.

She did say she was I guess what you might say, computer challenged.
I have seen the twitter. I don't have one myself so I can not see what people tweet her. I saw three tweets by her, if it is hers. Last tweet is, "Staying Positive." First tweet was 4/11, last tweet last night. I see that that this account went from 50 followers to over 200. I don't know how to tell if an account is real or not. Perhaps that is impossible IDK.

JMOO of course but I have always felt the ninja story was a close as we'll ever come to TA's last moments. I think JA dressed the part and used both gun and knife to support a claim of 2 assailants... and obviously making this all VERY premeditated.

She has already proven that with her ninja story. If she were in a fog she would not have remembered to add the knife because this was the day of her arrest and before she had all the details. Jodi could have easily said it was one person but she claimed there were two so it was her intent to make it appear there was more than one person. And remember Jodi claims to not know what she did with the knife.

god ive been biting my nails off not being able to get on here,i think i did a boo boo :innocent:

so is alv completely done on the stand apart from this other issue? this is what im unclear on?

for the first time yesterday,at the end of court i thought to myself "its over" meaning for Jodi. im still staying optimistic but if that is alv done thats the defense done. now its rebuttal and juan is going to have expert after expert, wallmart, tesoro and whoever else bringing it home that SHE did plan it and wasn't self defense. the only thing the defense have left really is closing statement because i doubt they will successfully cross any of juans witness's

:wagon: back! it happens to the best of us! ;)

I'm not really in to twitter, but my understanding is celebrities/public figures can somehow contact twitter to verify their identity, at which point a icon will be on their twitter page indicating it is that actual person. Though not being verified, doesn't mean it is fake.

In 1998 ALV published an article for the Women's Studies Encyclopedia called

The Battered Husband Syndrome and Other Myths

This is the first time I realize Sleuth5 was British!

Bob's your Uncle! I'm Welsh, actually, from Cardiganshire, where my kin frolic happily in the fields herding cattle. For my part, I prefer to find unusual things to roll in and to vex various stuffed toys, my current favorite being PortlyPine.

I find it interesting JW wanted to question ALV about her not interviewing Travis family. Objection..approach. And she went on to the next question.

Thanks for pointing this out. By definition, battery is physical. It comes from the French word battre, meaning "to beat."

"battery n. the actual intentional striking of someone, with intent to harm, or in a "rude and insolent manner" even if the injury is slight. Negligent or careless unintentional contact is not battery no matter how great the harm. Battery is a crime and also the basis for a lawsuit as a civil wrong if there is damage. It is often coupled with "assault" (which does not require actual touching) in "assault and battery." (See: assault> Copyright © 1981-2005 by Gerald N. Hill and Kathleen T. Hill. All Right reserved.

battery noun assault, attack, beating, harmful physical contact, injurious force, offensive action, onslaught, unlawful hitting, unlawful striking, unlawful touching
Associated concepts: assault and battery, simple battery

More here: http://legal-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/battery

Of course I know what the definition of battery is. So does ALV. It seems that people do not yet understand psychological abuse. It makes me sad because the ground breaking work on this, as perhaps the most devastating aspect of abuse, was done 20 and 30 years ago by people like Lenore Walker, Patricia Evans, and Judith Herman and others.

You can be battered psychologically ALV said--that's one step above abuse and one step below terrorism on her continuum.

It changes your brain chemistry, among other things. That is what PTSD is all about.

ALV said that there is a lot of new work being done on psychological abuse now and a lot of books in the works.

No matter what you think about this case, I hope that every woman learns about these things because it truly can destroy your life and the lives of your children.

IMO

I almost hope she does use it (after the trial) because I'd love the see her restricted to :laugh:140 characters.

Were the titles of the books she gave JA ever disclosed?

Lets guess what those primers, er I mean titles could have been, shall we?

Red Flag Up: Seven Signs of Domestic Abuse - Deborah Hamilton Publication date: 12/13/2007
Pages: 56
(easy fast read so she can get the foundation established)

Why Does He Do That? Inside the minds of Angry & Controlling Men Lundy Bancroft
Paperback, 432 pages
Published September 2nd 2003
(" ...Bancroft identifies nine types of abusive men, addressing different styles, from the physical batterer to the strictly verbal abuser. He dispels the pervasive societal myths surrounding abuse, exposing common excuses used by abusers, such as having experienced an abusive childhood or substance addiction. Bancroft answers commonly asked questions, such as what warning signs of abuse to look for early in a relationship; what is and isn't abusive behavior; how to know if a woman and her children are in danger; and how to tell when a man is really changing.

Beyond the Tears: A True Survivor's Story Lynn Tolson
Paperback, 304 pages
Published April 2nd 2003
("The reader accompanies the author through therapy sessions, where the young woman reveals dysfunctional family relationships, including domestic violence, sexual abuse, and mental illness. She learns from her counselor that she'd been suffering from PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) which was the underlying cause of self-destructive behaviors ...")

The Verbally Abusive Relationship: How to Recognize It and How to RespondPatricia Evans
Paperback, 221 pages
Published February 1st 2003
(" ... She also outlines the Levels of Abuse that characterize this kind of behavior--from subtle, insidious put-downs that can erode your self-esteem to full-out tantrums of name-calling, screaming, and threatening that can escalate into physical abuse ...")

Setting the Captives Free: A Christian Theology for Domestic Violence by Ron
Published 11/01/2005

Just guessing but I'm betting these are really close. And we know "O" magazine is chock full of ways to help women get out of bad places.

It's obscene that Jodi dares to put herself into any of these stories!

In just reading these titles, my heart breaks for anyone trapped in an unsafe relationship or family. Sending them all love and lightness.

About ALV claiming JA driving to ambush Bianca wasn't "hostile". Remember the scene in Fatal Attraction where she's nicely sitting in their living room having tea quietly with his wife when he comes home? That wasn't hostile either.

BBM: You say for a fact that this will be heard in front of the jury. How do you know this? I'm behind in reading all the posts. TIA

Sorry, just didn't do the best job of writing that post. I was responding to Hopeful, who had asked about whether anyone knew what might be going on regarding ALV's return next week. I was just (quickly) recapping the various speculations I'd read on the threads. Take a look at the Court Watcher's thread for KCL's ruminations on the subject and some good stuff from AZL. At any rate, I didn't mean to state it as a fact -- I think I was clear at some point that this was not my personal knowledge but information gleaned from reading posts.

I can't figure out how it went over ALV's head that the jury was trying to ask her just this question. They knew that Travis wasn't calling Jodi a liar about him with another woman. He was calling her a liar about how she found out about him seeing another woman. THAT was obvious, but ALV looks befuddled and keeps saying that Jodi's story was true because he was seeing Lisa.

Incredible, right?

My take was that ALV believed the story about the stranger in the restaurant because Travis actually was seeing Lisa at the time. Sort of like, Jodi said the galactic ruler of Arcturus beamed me a message through the fillings in my teeth that Travis was seeing Lisa, and ALV believes it because the message was accurate. I think you're correct, though -- ALV was talking about the relationship between Travis and Lisa, not the idiot story JA told.

Good catch, now. That's too funny lol:floorlaugh:
And my favorite quote from the trial is still when JM says "We'll it's YOUR fog!" Lololol

I assume it was an oversight, but this isn't something only women have dealt with, trust me. Sometimes the most beautiful ones can be the most viscous.
