WESH: Duct Tape Info in the Document Release

I don't mean to sound uncompassionate, but really, this is good news for the A's if it bears out. This means they can have closure. They will know without a doubt who killed their granddaughter. They will have to stop playing head games. The truth will set them free.

I think once DP goes back on table, there will be some leverage and pressure.

Also- wonder how the As are taking this news. Do they still support and believe poor widdle Casey?

They said he got it Monday; but who knows how much sooner he was 'tipped off' either by someone on the investigation, or as a very remote possibility, his client.

I am cautiously optimistic about the next doc dump. I have a few concerns about the wording from the 'source' - in that they did NOT specify fingerprints. I know we are all assuming that is going to be what is released, but I think I am going to wait and see exactly what the report says before I start doing cartwheels - I don't want to take the chance of injuring myself prematurely

Any time I tried a cartwheel, I would injure myself! LOL! Thanks Mac for the reality check. I am glad they are releasing the docs. Any evidence against KC will be good news.

When I heard Lee's words my interpretation was that he was pleading for Casey to come clean.

I thought then and think now that the "unconditional love" words from the family were to pave the way for Casey to talk.

People have been saying for months that Casey is too afraid of losing Cindy's love to talk. I think the words from the family were to reassure Casey that they will love her no matter what...so...TALK.

Oh, I was taking it to mean he wanted the "real killer" or someone who knew what "really" happened to step up and tell the truth to get his sister cleared of these charges which were brought about "on a whim" by LE.

Scientific evidence at its best will only say "possibly." That's because the data base does not include a sample of all 7 billion people in the world plus everyone who has ever lived. The best it gets is "possibly" or "could." However, it is still reliable and admissable as evidence under the Rules of Evidence and that, along with the rest of the evidence is what makes or breaks a case. All of the evidence is the case; not just the results of one or more lab tests. Justice isn't that easy. That does not mean that there is a "reasonable" doubt. Legal standards for beyond a reasonable doubt can be met without a single lab test.

I very much doubt that with evidence like this the prosecution is going to approach the defense for a plea deal. The offer would have to come from the defense. The problem is KC believes her own propaganda. She won't plea because she no longer believes the truth of what happened; she believes her own story and will willingly blame her attorney if she is wrong. That has been her pattern and has become her reality.
These docs were released to defense. JB then had to enter the hospital. No matter how hard he leans on this client; because of her dysfunctional thought process, he will never get her to agree to a plea deal. That step must come before he enters into any discussions of a plea deal with the prosecution.

IMHO, this case is going to trial no matter how much is at stake. Prosecution knows that too and they are spending their time prepping for trial.

State may agree to deal to save the expense of a trial. KC may agree to deal if it doesn't include jail time, or more than time served. (Yes, I think she may seriously suggest that, not that she'd get it.)

I've posted previously the depths of her lack of smarts never ceases to amaze me, so you may be right. When all of her dream team come out with nothing to help; when Jose explains to her the risks of going on the stand and how it would be the only way to come up with an alternate explanation; her pure Anthony Arrogance may force the issue to trial. (Where she'll be humiliated, as well as convicted, imo.) But if the dp is put back on the table, I really don't think she'd want to take that risk.

Not to borrow from someone else's writings: KC is "a fly in the ointment of God." She is the dirt on top of a &^% sundae. I hope the prints are well defined and on both sides of the tape. I hope her prints are all over that knife found with the remains and hope that the knife was used to cut the duct tape. There is nothing reasonable doubt-ery (sorry for the slang) about that. If that is what the docudump winds up showing.

I'm not so sure that LE would grant them that courtesy and they are not obligated to do so. Baez would more than likely be the ones to tell them, but not sure if attorney/client priviledge may prevent him from doing so unless KC agreed. The hosipital visist with stomach problems kinda makes me think that Jose bought her story hook, line and sinker. Now he is going to have to think of her as a murderer, not as a victime herself.

I'm going to do the (mental) cartwheels now--just in case reality is a letdown when the actual docs are released. I have the same concerns you do. We ought to head to the basement later for a celebratory toast.
