A woman in my province lost her life. Tanya Myers was driving her vehicle just outside the small city of Weyburn Saskatchewan when her vehicle was shot at. The bullet struck her and she unfortunately passed away.

A second vehicle was also struck but not reported to RCMP until the following day.

Here is a link to a news article from CTV News Regina.

Scary.
My eyes watered up when they talked about her love for her family and her cats.

I thought it interesting her leaving town was rare. And she was the passenger so who was she traveling with??

Snipped from the OP...
...The 44-year-old kept to herself, according to her family, and was making a rare trip outside of Weyburn at the time of shooting.

...RCMP have now determined that two vehicles were struck by gunshots around three kilometres northwest of Weyburn.

The vehicle Myers was travelling in stopped shortly after being hit – while the second vehicle continued on to Weyburn.

ETA passenger quote from 3rd link posted...

...Once on the scene, investigators determined that a black Ford Explorer was travelling towards Weyburn when the passenger of the vehicle, a 44-year-old woman from Weyburn, was hit by a bullet.

Thinking further where was it they had been? What had her doing something she rarely ever did? Hmmmmmm...the driver knows.

Im wondering if the RCMP believes that vehicle witnessed the events and are looking for the driver? It is a single lane section of the highway right near the grain terminals. The article says near range road 2151.

That section of highway is currently being worked on and there was speed restrictions. The area around is flat fields.

Wonder if they think someone shot from out in a field?

Here's some more details about the second vehicle that was shot (short article so can't paste much): Second vehicle damaged by gunshot on Highway 39
On September 13 RCMP received a report from a member of the public who said they were driving on Highway 39 the evening of September 12 around 8:00 p.m. and may have been traveling behind the Ford Explorer.
The SUV’s tire was examined on September 15 by Regina RCMP Forensic Identification Section and it was determined the tire was damaged by a gunshot.

It is a straight section of the road and the shot came through the back of the vehicle, through the metal. Had to have been someone behind them. They first shot the tire of the truck, which then passed the Ford Explorer. Then the shot went through the back of the explorer.
Wonder about the balistics report. What type of gun was used?

This is as today. No updates on whether or not they have ANY kind of leads.

I am very surprised that there hasn't been any other information from the police. Guess they are keeping the info close to their chests. I think the type of bullet/gun would tell alot. I don't believe the hunter theory as they would have to have been standing in the road.

Big nothingburger conference, Q&A session is full of RCMP saying they can't answer any of the questions and just repeating what was in the news release. One of the local reporters asked about a rumour that Fahlman was arrested on Oct 15 at a gas station and was told they can't speak to any previous arrests. Also can't answer if he had the firearm for hunting or poaching.

On a lighter note, even law enforcement has trouble with Zoom meetings, reporters not muting themselves and microphones not working.

According to this guys facebook, he is a hunter. Are we to possibly believe this was a hunting accident? It was dark and raining and a straight stretch of the road? hmmmm

snipped...
...In Saskatchewan, it is illegal to hunt one-half hour after sunset and one-half hour before sunrise. You can hunt from one-half hour before sunrise until one-half hour after sunset. This rule applies to most wildlife, though specific regulations may vary for certain species like migratory birds, so it is essential to check local and provincial guidelines before hunting.

ETA snipped...
...Morrice called 911. Paramedics arrived soon after, but Myers was dead. They found a tiny spot of blood around her left shoulder blade. Three bullet holes were found in the truck.

...Insp. Ashley St. Germaine said officers are not looking for other suspects and that it isn’t believed Fahlman knew Myers.
