What did she buy at Target and How did she do it?

So when KC was writing all those checks to Target(see below) they were Amy's checks. Casey's showed her own license to write these checks as the image of her ID was captured on back of the check. Nothing matched..not her name address or her picture for crying out loud. How the heck was she able to get away with it in the first place?

#142 $111.01 Target Orlando-posted 7/8/08

#143 $137.77 Target Winter Garden-posted 7/10/08

#144 $155.47 Target Orland-posted 7/10/08

#145 $92.62 Winn Dixie-posted 7/12/08

#146 $250.00 Bank of America posted 7/15/08

Also the affadavit states that Target and Bank Of America are pressing charges. I wonder if these charges will nulify her bond or no? IIRC the Surety Company in TX had the stipulation correct?

There was also an electronic payment presented to AT&T for the amount of $574.00 from KC.

If this has already been discussed please ignore me. It's impossible to keep up around here!

The police report stated that Casey's name was printed on the checks.

Glad to hear both Target and BOA are pressing charges. Hopefully that will send Casey back to jail sooner rather than later, but with all that money the Anthony's have from book, interview and movie deals, just seems like this will be an on going revolving door for Casey until she is charged with something more harsh, like Murder in the 1st Degree.

They were either blank starter checks, washed checks or she next day ordered new checks online.

That isn't what the affadavit says..Although they are low check numbers now that I think of it..so maybe they were Amy's starter checks which there wouldn't be any information on them yet. I didn't hear KC name was on the checks though.

Not to start ranting off today but in our society people do not scrutinize checks or credit cards anymore! It irritates me to no end. I have "see id" clearly printed on the back of my credit cards and I have been asked for my id maybe 3 times in 4 years. Our society suffers from all kinds of identity fraud and bad debt but so many are in a rush and generally too lazy to spend the extra second to verify things. It's like it's an accepted practice that people will steal and defraud so the stores insure themselves and we as consumers have to patrol our accounts. I don't think Target should be able to go after people for checks like these if she wrote MICKEY MOUSE as the signatory and had a MICKEY MOUSE driver's license (that did not match the check). The clerks just do not look.

WOW really around here it's totally not like that. My check card is signed and I still get asked for my ID.

Page two clearly says "These checks have Anthony's name and what appear to be her signatures on them."

You realize that Visa and Mastercard will make you pay for any fraudulent charges if your card is recovered with "See ID" instead of your signature? It is a violation of the cardholder agreement. Just a warning from an ex-Visa/Mastercard employee.

That is why I signed mine..our local news did a report about that.

I skimmed right over that...thanks for pointing that out. Well they had to be starter checks so she must have written the information on them herself. If Casey ordered checks then she wouldn't have stolen them from Amy. It also continues to discuss how Amy recovered the check book from the ex boyfriend of the "suspect".

I've got both my signature and "ask for ID" written on the back of all of my cards. My wallet was stolen a few days ago and fortunately it looks like the theif wasn't able or didn't try to use my cards.

My mom and I had this very discussion last week. We went shopping for back to school clothes and supplies and I used my debit & credit card 10 or more times that day and only 1 clerk asked for my ID. My mom wrote 6 checks and no one asked for her ID either. I think cashiers are supposed to but they are sometimes VERY lax in this and they really shouldnt be.

All you have to do is stick them in an ink jet printer and "voila!" personalized checks rather than starters. That's why a lot of places won't take checks under 500-700 anymore.

As long as your signature is there, you should be alright. It's just blank cards and ones that only have "See ID" that are in violation.
