What happens to Casey if/when found guilty?

Here's some interesting facts:

http://www.dc.state.fl.us/oth/deathrow/

A Death Row cell is 6 x 9 x 9.5 feet high. Florida State Prison also has Death Watch cells to incarcerate inmates awaiting execution after the Governor signs a death warrant for them. A Death Watch cell is 12 x 7 x 8.5 feet high.

Men on Death Row are housed at Florida State Prison in Starke, FL, and Union Correctional Institution in Raiford, FL. The women on Death Row are housed at Lowell Correctional Institution Annex in Lowell, FL.

Prior to execution, an inmate may request a last meal. To avoid extravagance, the food to prepare the last meal must cost no more than $40 and must be purchased locally.

They may have cigarettes, snacks, radios and 13" televisions in their cells. They do not have cable television or air-conditioning and they are not allowed to be with each other in a common room. They can watch church services on closed circuit television. While on Death Watch, inmates may have radios and televisions positioned outside their cell bars.

Death Row inmates can be distinguished from other inmates by their orange t-shirts. Their pants are the same blue colored pants worn by regular inmates.

If Casey does get LWOP and put on close management, do you know what that involves? Will she be kept in a cell most of the day, allowed to mingle with any other close management women, work, etc? Just how exposed to others or able to communicate with others will she be?

I really don't know. I would consider "close management" almost solitary, or at least alone in a cell and under supervision when out. But I'm merely guessing.

I'm sure after a couple of years, when everyone forgets about her, her prison life may change, but I can only assume.

Hugs,

ICA would not have to go back to her family. SOMEone would take her in... I'm almost positive of that. Plus, she'd never have to work. She'd make tons of money for interviews and various appearances, and from book deals (that she'd have someone else help her write). She would not have to worry about vigilante justice, because she would be able to afford all manner of security. In short, she would have a "beautiful life". I know that no one wants to hear or accept that this may be true, but I think the scenario I have laid out is exactly what would happen --- Which is why I hope like HE77 that she does NOT get acquitted.

Maybe she can go live with Joy Wray or Laura Buchanan until she gets her own digs!

:floorlaugh:

Oh Lord, help us!

Good to hear there is no a/c on Florida's Death Row. Death Row will just be a warm up for Casey before she actually goes to HELL, the hot conditions will prepare her for Hell.

I'd be flippin mad if she did. It is sooo humid here today and I have no AC (couldn't afford to turn it on if we did). I hope she has a lot of hot and sweaty days and cold cold nights!

She'll get to prepare for true hell-Sitting before the eccentric Judge Rodriguez while John Morgan tells us about KC in a way the criminal prosecution never could. Oughta order a case of popcorn for that one, should be good stuff.
Unless shes settles...

(Praying-Please don't settle, Please don't settle, Please don't settle)

If Casey walks free (and we all know the unpredictable nature of juries) do you think the Anthonys would take her in? She'll never be able to get a job. Even if the Anthonys paid for her rent, what landlord would rent to her? And can you imagine how h*llish life would be if she did move back home? George and Cindy don't deserve that.

ICA will NEVER, EVER walk free again as long as she lives and breathes!

I think the only "walking" she will do is off to prison.

ITA!

In her mind however I am certain that she believes that the jurors will believe her this one last time of whooping lies, and even that she could get up on the stand. Will not work!

I was thinking about that too...

BUT...the only way she'll walk on the murder charges (I heard she'd do more time for sure for lying to LE) is if EVERYONE on the jury acquits.

I really think that won't happen. I think the worst would be a mistrial...one or two jurors holding out for not guilty.

Then the state will try her again...and again if necessary!

My personal feeling is that she'll be convicted of capital murder and get the death penalty, no mistrial.

And just the duct tape ought to get her the DP.

Plus her willingness to throw everyone in her family under the bus...

I think that could backfire. It'll just show the jury how cold she really is...that there was no accidental drowning.

I agree. Look at the marriage proposals Scott Peterson received.

Who would want to read a book by her? She doesn;t seem to tell the truth.
As far as a movie...would it start out with KC at fusion dancing?
Or......GA holding a drowned Caylee :( screaming at KC: LOOK WHAT YOUVE DONE.
I cant imagine any of this making for a good movie.

If Amy whatshername had to change her looks, Im sure KC would have to undergo an entire one, look totally different.
Too many people are convincedshe is guilty and killing a 2 yr old is not a good crime, people get MAD, we saw what happened outside the Ants house, wow, I find it hrd to believe they would want to go through that again.
I hope there wont be an acquital. By now, I am sick of her smirks, dirty looks she gives people, even her own Mother uggg she doesn't deserve the
"Beautiful Life". She pretty much had one andblew it so what? She will thrive inprison outdoing the other prisoners, she will be good at it or she will meet her match:crazy:

If there is a mistrial does she sit in jail still until she is tried again ?

I have seen on Lockup inmates flipping out because their cable goes out for an hour .

Alot of womens prisons are less stringent that mens and the inmates have alot more freedom . They are almost like dorms . I am scared if she gets that that she would probably be relativly happy . She could have relasionships , not be expected to work and still have her laundry done for her . I hope Florida prisons are different than the ones I have seen on tv.

Yes, she does have to sit in jail if a mistrial is declared.

I hope like Heck they give Casey the DP.

Casey will truly be living the "Beautiful Life" inside the Prison walls if she gets LWOP.

Heck, I bet she will be getting Pen Pals, she already has people writing her.

you know what really angers me is what about Caylee's beautiful life? From all I have read she had a terrible life and it really upsets me. Why did this happen? Will she ever receive justice? I know she is an angel in heaven and has life everlasting, but her life here on earth had to be utter HE77.:maddening:

It makes me sick that any inmate has a TV or radio, etc

She'll become an Event Planner in prison. It will go something like this:
(1) What do I do in the "EVENT" that another inmate jumps me for lying.
(2) What do I do in the "EVENT" that another inmate jumps me from stealing from her.
(3) What do I do in the "EVENT" that people stop depositing money into my account.
(4) What do I do in the "EVENT" that I run of of crayons.
(5) What do I do in the "EVENT" that i run out of things to say to myself.
(6) What do I do in the "EVENT" that my looks start fading?
Strike number (6) as that's already happening.
There's more I am sure. That will be about the extent of her "EVENT" planning. KWIM

If she receives the DP then all of the "EVENT" planning becomes null and void.

My vote is for LWOP with hard labor ... maybe she could dig holes for 40-50 years - the shovel would remind her of Caylee ... or maybe she could clear swamp land and put the debris in drawstring plastic bags ... or maybe she could work in the laundry using the same canvas bags in which she discarded Caylee. She'll fit right in at Lowell with all of the other murdering, thieving, lying women.

One can only hope! I heard that DP prisoners are not given the "luxury" of having any kind of job. Church is watched via closed circuit TV, etc. If she gets to DR, she will not have any interaction with the gen pop whatsoever. Meals served in her cell, shower enclosed (from what I understand). Only let out 1 hour a day in a dog cage.

That's what I read anywhooo....

Good Idea:woohoo:
This is what she would deserve.....how fitting! And I was thinking also that if she gets LWOP and she won't be separated from general population her days may be numbered. The other prisoners may not look kindly on a baby killer.
She may be killed by another inmate. If this were to become a good possibility she may want to get Death Penalty as she will be in isolation there and end up actually living longer then with serving LWOP......JMO

I posted this link in another thread, don't know if it's been brought up yet.

Predictions that Peterson might be ostracized – or worse – because of Conner's death have proven not to be true. "In Scott's case," says Robinson, "the perception [among the inmates] is that he killed his wife, and yeah she was pregnant, but he killed his wife. He hasn't encountered the challenges others face who have killed kids individually."

Robinson says Peterson still gets regular visits – several each month – from family and friends. He also receives numerous letters from female admirers who send him checks for his commissary account. "He has a significant amount of money in his account from people all over the world," says Robinson. Peterson can spend $180 a month on items such as soda, candy, cookies, toothpaste and deodorant.
http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20271730,00.html

Don't know if she's going to be sent to solitary, and if different rules apply, but if not... so she'll be a convicted child killer which won't be looked upon highly by her fellow prisoners, but predictably she will vehemently deny that to everyone who will listen and very likely she'll find people who will believe her story and with who she'll come to befriend. And I can completely see, given the coverage this case has received, continued attention from male admirers sending her cheques to pad her commissary account. She'll still get to have her snicker bars, pretzels, and pork skins.

And once the publicity dies down, I don't doubt for a second that her family will continue to visit her for years and years to come. It's a tough life but she wouldn't exactly be suffering.
