WHAT Has Been Said & By WHOM... That Baffles You? (aka Oh No They Didn't!)

I agree, catnron.

"In the first information released regarding the 10 days Padilla spent with Anthony, he said her remarks rebutted what was being said on TV. A lead investigator confirms that during one of those trips, Anthony blurted out 'They haven't even found the clothes she was wearing' about those searching for Caylee."

http://www.wesh.com/news/18009037/detail.html

. . . adding the ". . .she was wearing," makes it sound even more sinister. But it confuses me because they did find clothes that it appeared Caylee was wearing when they found her remains. So why would Casey have ever said that? What would there be to lie about it? How could she have thought it would be to her advantage? Were the clothes that were found with Caylee really the ones she was wearing or could they have been an extra set Casey always carried along with her? Was LP telling the truth? Was Tracy telling the truth? The statement only tends to incriminate Casey because it implies that Casey knows the clothes and the body are separate from one another ~ which means Casey knows there is a dead body. Is she so stupid to say this? So who is lying? I sure can't figure it out! :waitasec:

I think there were clothes planted somewhere, and it is those which have never been found....kinda like when Cindy held up that Minnie dress on national TV. Very odd.

Three thoughts come to mind:

1. How did the perp know what clothes Caylee was wearing when she was murdered?
2. Was the perp dumb enough to believe that there would be nothing left of the body, not even the bones? Or perhaps she knew that someone was going to take care of any remains so that nothing would be left except the clothes?

My head hurts.

When Casey said to Padilla" they have not even found her clothes yet" I think there is a lot of information in that statement and answers.

Something very very telling about that statement. Look at it carefully. It is a highly pertinent statement. Something that would be huge if it comes out at trial. So do we have any confirmation that that conversation ever actually took place, from anyone other than LP? Because if he is the only one claiming that KC said that, or that he heard her say that, well it is interesting that he does not appear on the states witness list of over 320 people.

treat any information coming from a single source, that is not backed up by some other corroborating evidence, or a clear sign that either the state or even the defense finds it in some way believable as probable complete and utter bull droppings. This accounts for about 99% of anything that LP says (and 100% of anything that KC or CA says), unless it was specifically stated in a sworn statement or deposition, by another third party.

So in this case, unless Tracey has issued a sworn statement regarding that conversation, and is being called to testify about it at trial, look on it with some caution. (and once again Ms. McLaughlin is NOT currently on the states witness list. So that should be telling us something about this particular infamous statement.)

At the time, I took that to mean all of the rubber bracelets she was wearing for missing kids.

The statement is still totally self-serving, though.
I took it to mean, "For you people out there who send things to people.... send me jewelry."

Speaking of clothes, I thought it was weird that George could describe in great detail what Casey and Caylee were wearing on what later turned out to be the last time he saw them together as they left the house. No man that I know notices that unless it is something so odd or outstanding to stick out in his mind; but to recall details of just daily wear, regular clothes... no...

They were asked about the jewelry on one of the interviews they did this summer and said they would never take it off. 2 days later on another show, it was off.

Almost sounds like a plea from the pulpit for jewelry donations for grieving gma...to give her peace. :banghead:
And if misguided strangers send her cash, she probably has to split it with George.

What's even odder than that is that Casey, in her written statement, says she was wearing the exact same clothes that George described ~ and those weren't the same clothes found with her remains. So why did George and/or Casey describe the wrong clothes? (. . . that Casey allegedly said weren't even found?) :banghead:

Were the bag of clothes, stuffed animals etc. found in the woods by KW brought to Cindy BEFORE or AFTER KC said "they haven't even found her clothes yet" ??

Could they have planted clothes somewhere that match the ones GA and ICA described her as last wearing, but were not the ones found with her?

I think that is one of the least odd things out of all of this. The something so odd that triggered him thinking and constructing the image of what Caylee was wearing when he last saw her was that smell in the car. He knew, right then and there that that was the last time he would ever see her, and tried to form a clear mental picture of it. Of course since this was a month later, and he hadn't really been paying attention, he didn't get it right. But he still formed a very clear picture based on what he expected she would be wearing. This is pretty normal for people. It is why eyewitnesses are far more unreliable in a criminal case than forensics. Our memories will change to what we think we saw, rather than what we did see. And they can be modified by later information.

George knew the moment he popped that trunk and did not see KC's body in there, what the deal was. Everything after that was simply he didn't have the heart or the cajones to outright tell this to Cindy and break her out of her delusion.

Speaking of which, what happened to his massive diamond earring?

Do you really think they were real diamonds? I always just assumed they were CZs. Real diamonds the size of the stone George was wearing would cost WAY more than they had to spend. (And I can't see Cindy letting George have a huge pair of diamonds without her having a pair.) But then, I guess I wouldn't put anything past them. Maybe they did waste thousands on diamonds.

ETA: Did he have a pair, or a single stone?

This is just a theory I have about the "they haven't even found her clothes yet" statement.

What if Casey and Caylee left the house just as George has said and Caylee was wearing the jean shorts and pink T-shirt?

If that did happen, I really think that Caylee was murdered in the Anthony home as soon as George left for work that day.

A lot of people seem to think that Caylee wearing the "Big Trouble Comes in Small Packages" shirt was a statement being made by Casey. Which I have no trouble believing. I have no trouble believing that Casey changed Caylee's clothes after murdering her.

Another thing I have thought a lot about is Caylee's missing tooth and I am sorry to be so graphic, but what if Caylee wasn't sedated? What if while Casey was forcefully applying tape over Caylee's airwaves and Caylee naturally fighting it, Caylee's tooth gets knocked out. Blood from her mouth gets onto the clothes she was wearing? She can't leave them in the house. She has to get rid of them.

I can also see Casey trying to put Caylee into the pool and making it look like an accident. Another reason for the change of clothes.

Who knows? I do think there is another pair of clothes that belonged to Caylee out there somewhere.

Good theories. Unfortunately, i'm afraid we will never know the truth about what happened..how, when, where. She will keep that a secret forever along with her claim of innocence. I just wonder if Cindy, Lee or George know the details. I would believe Cindy and Lee may, but they would leave George in the dark...he IS the weakest link and I bet he has always been kept in the dark..
I have always believed the tooth was not found at the remains site because it was never there.

I kind of feel like there's more to this than her just killing her kid, and I feel like she's not talking to protect others.

What makes you think that? Does Casey seem like the type to do such a thing?

  • #376
I know. That was chilling. Just give me his number, etc. That was all she cared about. Nothing else existed. Her totally flat tone of voice, too. She sounded like a junkie to me. She looked like a junkie in that time frame, too, the completely vacant/wide-eyed facial expression etc.
And why would they know his number, better than she did? I never got that. She'd been living with this guy for the past month. Why would they know his number at all? Weird all around.

And her cruelty to her friend (waste, huge waste) that was *gasp* worried about Caylee. Casey was pi$$ed that she wasn't obeying her commands! Bizarre.

When Casey said that she was going to nightclubs to find out information about Zanny that might lead her to Caylee.

The way Kiomarie recanted her story to LE when asked to provide phone records, and the mysterious unlocatable "other Casey".
Kiomarie is the neighbor and schoolmate of Casey's who had also worked at Universal in the past, like Casey. Very early in the missing child case, Kiomarie called LE and said (a) that she thought Caylee could be deceased and buried in woods down by the elementary school, and (b) the detailed story about running into Casey A in a store and telling her if she ever needed help with anything to give her a call, and then subsequently getting a phone call from Casey A on July 9, 2008, in which Casey asked to borrow money to get away from a boyfriend. She said she heard Caylee talking to Casey during this phone call on July 9. She said she told Casey, sure I'm happy to lend you the money, just tell me where to bring it, but that Casey called back and said don't worry, my mother is giving me money.
When LE followed up to get Kiomarie's phone records to verify the calls, Kiomarie said, woops, she had been mistaken, it was a completely different friend Casey who had called her, (Casey W.) She said she'd worked with Casey W. at Disney in the past, and that Casey W also has a young daughter, Abby. Kio said that Casey W's phone number was now out of service (she told LE a phone number, which came up out of service or unassigned). She said she didn't know Casey W's former address (maybe someplace behind Disney with her mom) and now she's moved out of state but whereabouts unknown. When the officer mentioned looking for Casey W through driver's license records, Kio said she didn't think Casey W ever had a license, she takes the bus. etc (As far as we've seen, IIRC, we never saw that phone records were provided by Kio or the mysterious "other Casey" ever verified or interviewed.)

Thanks for refreshing my memory on this.. Someone had found a bag of stuffed animals on the side of the road close to where Caylee was found? if I remember correctly the person took them to the A's house and Cindy said they did not belong to Caylee. Do you remember the name of the person that found the stuffed toys?
