I would assume that the experts will be able to work out everything that went on with that laptop, (cannot wait for all the computer forensics to be released) I actually thought Lee got to Tony's earlier, was expected home soon, but didn't return for hours. Plenty of time to try and wipe a laptop, restore to orig settings etc.

I'm just speculating but I wonder if he would take the time to wipe the hard drive clean. Reinstall the OS.

Or:

Would he attempt to delete files, pics, empty the trashbin, do a defrag, and restore to factory setting?

Or:
Did he (ignorantly) go into the OS files and just deleted a few here and there enough to bring up the BSOD?

I think, if he did number 1, it might be hard even for FBI to find enough info. IIRC.

On number two, they can still pull up bits and pieces (on the hard drive). IIRC.

If he did number 3, anything on that 'puter will be found, yes I agree.

I'm no computer expert. I never even touched one until I was an adult, but our first one from the 90's was a pain in the badonkadonk and I had to wipe the hard drive a few times. I also had to manually install drivers every time I did that too.

I got to know that machine way to well for my liking. Just some thoughts about what LA might have tried to do. From a non-computer geek.

It never end's, to this day. they know it is too late to turn back and be there for Caylee, the poor baby, so they lie and it will all come and bite them big time, because it is all recorded from the beginning. I do remember him telling LE, no emails prior to July 15th...I think he wiped those out from July 14th back into June, May???...JMHO

If that was the case, all of the A's have somehow hindered the investigation, obstructed justice in some way and still never threats of arrest??? Never arrested for their part??? JMHO

This means he got over his shock (at what they all must have known had happened), and moved straight through grief onto saving Casey's butt within hours. Now luckily I have never been in this situation, but I'm pretty sure at this stage I would still be recoiling in horror under a doona in the foetal position. Also if he did wipe the computer, it shows that they all knew the nanny story was bogus on the first night, because no way would you wipe a computer if you had any doubt, considering the contact info which could have been on it, and no way would he have done this without a silent nod from his mother either.

Tim Miller was right when he called the Anthony's the most cold hearted family in America.

Unless the disk in question has been "low level formatted" a special process used by the hard drive manufacturer to completely clean the drive and restore it to out of the box condition, or he had access to a very high level government drive erasing tool there is pretty much nothing Lee could have done to that drive that the FBI labs could not very easily recover. There is no software or logical means to really clean them anymore, outside of the manufacturers tools. Which are specific to each make model and revision of your specific drive. So you could not simply download the tools somewhere.

Where I work now we drill several 1/4" holes through the drive platters, which pretty well destroys them. And is an acceptable method of data destruction for HiPPA. This will prevent the typical identity theft or someone looking for data. But there are federal labs that can still recover that . They are just rare and expensive.

I am still waiting for the video of CA with LE and the FBI interview that was given to JB on 7.29.10. It has to be a doozie.

But I'm curious; is it possible ICA had started trying to clean her hard drive? Dumping tons of stuff, including email, PM's, photo's - Or she set it up to crash, if anyone tried getting into it without the password?

GA has commented about how computer savvy she is, she was even able to get $$$ out of her Gfather's nursing home acct and forge a believable deposit slip!

IIRC, CA had left messages for her - after they recovered the Pontiac. She had to know they were going to find her - it was only a matter of time.

When Amy & CA showed up - the boys (AL & roomy) were waiting for a game to start, playing something on the tube - while ICA was on her computer...

Yep! I'm still waiting on that as well and am really baffled as to why it has not been made public. This has to be the one where CA gave ICA high marks on responsibility, etc...

I can go there. That makes sense that she would be furiously working on deleting her emails. I don't know of a virus that has such precision to delete only the emails from June 15 to July 17. But, I don't think she created the blue screen of death. I think that was all LA. Hopefully, SA has this and we wil be able to put these pieces together.

Yes, the State is surely right about the mother Casey Anthony’s guilt. She is probably the horrible, reckless, selfish who partied as her baby died as they allege. Still, she deserves fundamental fairness in the legal process. Despite the shocking number of notes I’m getting demanding the defense’s “out-of-town legal mercenaries” give up the ghost and crawl back under the rock they came from, even a defendant such as Casey Anthony deserves a fair trial. The authorities have known this child is her child since the first minutes of the skull’s discovery. To pretend here that identification requires DNA ignores the fact that they have her little teeth, her hair, clothes, size, and age. They have Caylee. They know it, and the defense should be permitted into the forensic process immediately or risk reversal at trial.


If, as I believe, they will within days be confirming that the remains found today are those of Caylee, then her mother’s defense team has lost its leverage to negotiate a plea deal. Having already taken the death penalty off the table, the State and the defense have held intensive plea negotiations in which Casey would have been sentenced to a lesser homicide plea and serve say, ten or fifteen years. In exchange, Casey would have pled guilty to a lesser homicide charge and told prosecutors everything about how, when, and why she killed her child, and who, if anyone, was also involved at any stage of the terrible process.

But there is a new caveat for the prosecution. If the fingerprints on the tape or garbage bag do not match the defendant Casey Anthony then, the investigation would have to widen to include either accomplices or the ‘real’ murderer. Having built the initial murder charge on the wealth of circumstantial evidence, now prosecutors must hope the physical evidence matches their initial theory. Much more to come. Just 5 days after Caylee was found......JB's "mouthpiece" was already introducing unidentified fingerprints. Hmmmmmmmmmmm

I just heard LP on HLN, when asked why he bailed ICA out in the first place, state he ha talked with a media friend of his from New York and they thought that Caylee was still alive at that point. Baffling me is who is this friend in the media? Could it be GRivera? Or Jim L from NBC? Do we have any more info on this?

There was MUCH discussion about that early on LancelotLink, but Lord knows now that it's been more than 2 years (that's so hard for me to believe) I couldn't begin to tell you where those threads are. To my best recollection many speculated that it was Geraldo, but afaik we never found out if it was true and if it was, who he was talking about...Sorry I can't be of more help!

Here are the things that baffle me:

In the jail visitation tapes, when Lee says to KC "Is this like last time?" What in the world could he be talking about?

Also in the jail visitation tapes/videos, when KC says to George and Cindy "Don't worry, I haven't said anything." Said anything about WHAT?

And more recently, Cindy's assertion that Caylee is still alive.
