Ack! I started reading the articles and now I have ????? about this case. If mom was actually gone less than 10 minutes and when she got back the paramedics were already working on the baby at the neighbors house,at least there was an attempt by this guy to get help immediatly.That's unusual in an abuse case.Highly unusual . That alone gives me pause and I was a foster parent for almost 20 years.
Contrast that to Caylee being gone 31 days before CA calls LE.

How old is ICA now,or how old will she be when the case gets to trial? Is she 24 going on 25? People keep referring to her as a young person - but really - she isn't, is she?

We've looked at the Finnell case on youtube, but that person was young - a legal child at 15. So I think ICA's case will be handled completely different, because she is clearly an adult.

Thanks Numbers, I get that, but why would they ask for clarification on shorts/laundry bag motion. Wouldn't they have to file a new motion for payment for hair DNA testing?

I'll try and be patient and see what the clarification is asking for.

I get the impression that the Defense want to cause as much complexity, confusion, cost, delay, frustration, paperwork as they can to make the State pay, literally, for a DP case against an indigent ICA. They are hoping for any mis-step or demonstration that ICA did not get a fair trial due to nickel and dime-ing.

AKA Playing the system against the system.

One strategy they likely have is to have Annie take the stand and detail how Casey wanted to commit herself to a mental institution or counseling center.

ICA was 22 yrs when Caylee died and will be 25 yrs (DOB March 1986) when the trial starts in May 2011..
As far as I am concerned she is not a young person but a Young ADULT.

I can completely agree with this opinion, cyberborg. As far as I can see, the defense does not have a specific defense. Causing confusion is their only defense to force the prosecution to fail in its attemp to explain this sorid story of what happened to Caylee.

However, in my wildest dreams, I still can not see where this will ever go to trial. Over and over in my mind I imagine the defense going up to the line and then at the last possible moment, Casey raises her hand and says "I"m guilty." If that is possible in our court system. jmo

35 year old educated, engineer type , married with kids... that Cheney would like.

I would like to think, at this point in time, that Mr. Mason has suggested to Mr. Baez that they consider begging the SAO for a plea.
Maybe that was the elephant in the courtroom at the last hearing-JB looks to Mr. Mason's exprience and opinion, as a death qualified attorney-If Mr. Mason puts that bug in JB's ear, he will have no choice but to really, really ponder it. Especially in light of AL and LKB leaving...
The mental and financial wear this has on an attorney (and no, I don't really feel sorry for JB) might also cause JB's "we're not gonna plea" front to crumble a bit. Hopefully JB is in limbo right now-Continue this case with no hope for financial return, the hours, the media, the stress....or tell KC we should think about grovelling for a plea deal....eeeeewww-That's a hard one, cause JB is prolly dreading saying that to KC.

Obviously the deposition of Kronk's son did not go well or we would have had "A breaking new's press conference" from defense. So where do they go from here? Everything seems to come back pointing at KC. What will be there defense if every road leads back to Mom? My guess is KC is holding out for one tiny piece of evidence they can dispute irregardless of the mountain of circumstancial evidence that clearly stands in her way and may lead to the DP. She just does not get it. jmo
