I am not a lawyer, but I can tell you the reason the lawyer files this with the court is so that anyone subpoenaing him to testify at trial needs to know not to contact him through the prior lawyer anymore, that is all.

I believe Mr. Cain was also the one who responded to George Anthony calling the police once or twice ( for gas cans and some other matter earlier).

[I cringe every time I hear NG refer to ICA as "tot mom." There is nothing "mom" about her. She was Caylee's biological mother, yes, but that does not a "mom" make!!!]

As far as the defense strategy goes, at this point in time I believe it begins with, "Bend over...."
