What were 'The menus' KC and CA are talking about??

Casey is just like Cindy and now we have an almost the same person Caylee just like Casey, and for some reason in this family they love to connect identities. I doubt Casey left her texting long enough to write out menus for Caylee. Okay, maybe she didn't allow bagels, but let's talk about duct tape now.

OK I don't ever remember seeing pictures of menus from the house. The feeling I got from this clip was when this exchange was going on CA's eyes were focused on KC and KC wanted to make sure her Mom knew she would feed herself and her daughter healthy stuff, then goes on to tell her Mom that they are the "same tiny little person". I would guess this is a valued trait in CA's eyes and KC is trying to kiss up to Mama with the smile.

Also, KC is making the point she would never feed her daughter anything she didn't like and then Grandma points out Caylee likes bagels and eggs, and then KC has to make herself "one with her daughter". Interesting, I would guess that KC doesn't like bagels, cream cheese and eggs and CA just illustrated that KC's whole point was moot about feeding Caylee what she wanted instead of what KC liked.

I don't recall where this came from, it's been so long but at some point it came out that Cindy got on Casey's butt because she wasn't feeding caylee healthy enough (or properly) for breakfast. (I have no link- I'm sorry. I do not remember where it came from- so take it for what it's worth to you! I think maybe George said it in an interview with LE). She thought she wasn't giving her enough of a well rounded meal and she told Casey so. I'm guessing that this menu she brings up at the jail is what Cindy thought Casey was feeding Caylee. IMO Casey was defending herself to her mother when she brought up the menu at jail.

Also- about the tickets to puerto rico.. there was a rumor from the start of the case that Casey bought everyones tickets with Cindy's credit card. That she made everyones reservations (iirc it was on her computer). When Cindy asked about the trip, it was IMO Cindy confronting Casey about first of all pretending to her friends that she was gonna be going on the trip and second that she is aware that Casey made the reservations.

Just mommy dearest tossing her "best friends" lies in her face once again.

Re: Menus

I thought it was because Casey allegedly was trying to get herself into shape (all while Caylee was missing and she was not "looking" for her) and had written down things to eat on certain days in order to lose weight/firm up. I thought the "menus" (i.e., food diary) were discovered in her car or in her recovered belongings and people were wondering what they were. I thought CA immediately tried to put a spin on it that Caylee also liked to eat those food items because logically they were not immediately stuff a child would eat. It is my opinion that CA in asking Casey at the jail about the "menus" was trying to ferret out that Caylee was alive on those dates. But silly Casey did not take the bait. Just my take on it.

Mods, sorry if this is in the wrong spot and has already been discussed.

I noticed this little bit in the jail visit transcript with GA and CA on the 25th July 2008. Does anybody have any idea what the heck it means?

It seems a bit strange that KC says to CA... "that was one thing jose asked me about 4 times, about the menus"

KC: Ye-ah! and just like the menus that you found at the house. The breakfast lunch and dinner, that was MY list, my stuff. I wanted to start waking up at 5'am and working out. If it was for caylee, there would have been waffles listed.mini pancakes. little things that she liked. I would never feed her a bagel with eggs...
CA: she likes bagels, and egg and cream cheese and that kinda stuff [sadly]
KC: So do I! We're like the same little tiny person, you know [cindy smiling] She's almost my size anyway, but it was health food, was it not, on those lists? It was all healthy stuff[cindy smile gone]
KC: that was one thing jose asked me about 4 times, about the menus

Imagine if that "menu" (food diary) had a date on it and Caylee was "missing" during that date. Imagine Casey writing down what she bloody ATE while her daughter went missing. No wonder Jose allegedly asked Casey about it 4 times.

She does, like another poster said, always answer a question with all of the other people she's told, before she actually gives an answer. Same thing with "do you think Caylee's close to home?" Lee asked. "Well, like I told so-and-so, and the psychologist appointed by the court, and so-and-so..." She doesn't get to the point right away...People who lie always throw in a lot of detail to seem more believable.

thank you! this was exactly the other one that was in my mind when I posted that! She often quotes herself as validation, too. For example, "X is a fact. I even said this yesterday". And she seems to believe this logic. Very strange. (As the detectives would say, "is that another thing that makes sense to you?")

I don't know that KC actually believes the logic as much as I think she uses this as a way to appear more convincing. I don't think it is an intentional way of answering a question as much as I believe that this is her way of subconsciously attempting to create credibility in her statements. For example....if I answer a question that someone may think is going to throw me off or catch me in a lie, it will appear as truth if I show I discussed it with others before. "See, it must be true because I told someone else the same thing." If I am consistent, it must be true. Ask so and so...I told them the same thing too.

My take on that particular encounter with Lee, was not saying all the people she told this to for validation reasons, but because she was complaining because she was TIRED OF ANSWERING THE SAME QUESTION OVER AND OVER AGAIN.
I take it that way partly because she whined a to her parents in one of the jailhouse videos how Lee was asking interrogating questions of her. It was the video where she talked about choosing GA for the meeting instead of CA or Lee I think.

I can't believe I missed this whole "menu" thing. I remember the convo about the Focus and floral car seat - don't know how I missed this!

It's almost like she barely knows Caylee. CA points out Caylee likes that food and kc says "Me too!" as if she's just realizing they have something in common. With having a child a few months older than Caylee, I try to put myself in some of these positions. I imagine my mom and I having this convo. If my mom said to me "he likes those foods, too", I would respond with something like "Oh, I know, he just prefers these sorts of things". To me, she either didn't really know this bit of info, or she's, once again, trying to make this all about her.

Agreed. Whether she actually ever told the person or not, and whether or not the person even exists. Reference: the nonexistent outcry witnesses - Jeffrey Michael Hopkins and Juliette Lewis.

And sometimes she did tell someone else, but what she told them wasn't true. Reference: her sworn, signed affidavit attached to one of the motions in which she states not that she actually dropped Caylee off with the imaginanny at Sawgrass, but that she *told* LE she had.

Too funny.
