curious about this,

1) would we still be talking about the case? i'd say almost certainly not

2) assuming PR wrote the note, did the note help or hurt the R's legally?......... the RN made their lives a living hell, but they could have been in prison for a long time instead.

no more questions...... would love to hear a BPD detective's take on this subject.....

my thoughts,

without ransom note, is there much reason to consider IDI? maybe the answer is that IDI is more likely as i certainly don't expect a "pedophile drifter" type to have written the RN

i'm scratching my brain for other ways the fake RN would have helped the R's....... i guess it helped turn the case into something so muddled that it may never be solved... or did the R's lawyers, smit, DA, BPD do that?

PR's 911 call is a bizarre as the RN. In both instances, there is a self-distancing from the 'missing' child. The fact that it happened on Christmas, plus the pageant videos splashing across the TV screens would ensure notoriety even without the RN IMO.
