What Would You Ask Ashton?***OPEN FOR DISCUSSION - POST INTERVIEW***

I'm FINALLY listening to the radio show. It's wonderful! And I was SO excited when Jeff Ashton was asked MY question - and answered it. So cool. Thank you! Great, great show!

Oh yeah, I remember that, too.

Well, maybe they were going for a "throw it all against the wall and see what sticks" defense...guess it worked. At least with this jury. *sigh*

Was there even a "wall" with this jury? :sigh:

The CPS report definitely could not have been introduced at trial. It is completely irrelevant what a CPS caseworker thinks the evidence shows.
Well as much as the grief expert could testify to about "grief" you would think a CPS worker could speak of perceived "abuse" at the hands of the accused.

Cindy and George's texts couldn't be retrieved.

Good point about asking George's coworkers if he was acting like he'd just killed, molested, or buried his granddaughter.

They were not permitted to open up the can for the jury. We had a discussion among the lawyers here and disagreed about whether or not the ruling was appropriate. I thought it was appropriate because the jurors could be expected to know the smell of "kitchen trash" and should have been given the chance to confirm that the smell was NOT kitchen trash. But JA said during the radio show that the jury did have the spare tire cover, which still smelled.

HHJP would never have allowed a field trip to the car.

I doubt there ever was any such item pulled from the wallet. Or if there was, it was immediately returned and not taken in as evidence, because it wasn't on any of the evidence sheets.

JA answered questions about the journal during the show. They decided it was from high school.

The pink heart shape at the site definitely was NOT the heart sticker that caused the shape on the tape, and I don't think JA et al. thought it was, but I wish I had asked him. To me, it was crystal clear that the sticker that caused the shape on the tape was the one that was missing from the sticker backing that was carefully cut out with curly scissors and placed on top of everything else in the Caylee keepsake box found in Casey's closet.

The hair mass was tested and had the decomp roots.

I would bet anyone a million dollars that they were just talking about the photos on the computer. The peeing in the parking lot, etc.
About the heart, JA said at the book signing that he wouldn't have had included it ...but it wasn't his call.

does anyone offhand have a link to the heart sticker thread? I'm looking everywhere for it but I'm a sucky sleuther :floorlaugh: "heart sticker" comes up a million times in search and I cant recall the name of the thread, it doesnt seem to be in the archive where the ping threads are.

thank you RR0004 because that is also what I thought but I wondered and still do why it was introduced at all then.

Personal Opinion: This shows that his book got to them! LOL

Agree Strawberry! And Jeff said in several news that he checked the legal issue about his comments over and over again and he found there was no problem with writing about "his recollections" as long as he wasn't using the actual document.

All this fuss looks good on you Mr. Baez....:floorlaugh:

I wonder who wrote the motion for her. I'm sure JAs response will be much better. He should take this opportunity to check on JBs sanctions for discovery violations.

well. I bet something like this was on JA's letter to santa.

I bet it was! :floorlaugh: I'd also bet that JA has made enough money to pay any fine that MIGHT get levied against him, AND, if something worse were to happen, he probably has enough to be okay with that, too!

Yes, Florida tax payers, this is how your hard earned dollars are being spent...Little boys one upping each other with their "stop looking at me before I tell Mom".

Excellent interview.. Thank you to everyone at WS who made it possible. I adore Jeff Ashton. He is so much more respectable and likable than any of FCA's DT. He does not merely rely on fake charm and sugar-coating to win you over, but rather a noble character and honesty. He answered questions frankly and eloquently and he definitely doesn't just give you BS answers you want to hear. Jose Baez was so far out if his league it's ridiculous IMO. Too bad the Pinellas 12 were so easily wooed by his pseudo charm and sucking up.

Something JA said that I honestly had always felt in my heart from he beginning, even before the verdict.. He said that since the jury pool was tainted because of the immense amount of media coverage, the jury was made up of people who had never paid attention to Caylee's story and didn't really care about what is going on in the world. I remember thinking about that in the early days of the trial when the media were talking about the jury. How could they not have heard of this beautiful little girl's story, unless they were such self-absorbed people that they just didn't care enough to hear it? Nearly 6 months later and it still burns me up.. :banghead:

If I had one question to ask Mr. Aston it would be this: did he really believe Casey made chloroform?
