When CA is called back to the stand by the prosecution will she plead the 5th?

Will CA plead the 5th the next time she takes the stand?

I hope she is held accountable for lying under oath.

She's a mother trying to save her only child from being killed. And the jury knows it.

Impeach her testimony and leave her alone, for pity's sake!

People need to learn and see this is just something you do not do. It sets an example.

The "flipper" is serving time and held accountable for something way less serious.

Nope! She'll lie like a rug.

She's had plenty of time to think up another story/explanation.

I anticipate one of her classic fudges....

"You didn't ask me that, Sir. You asked me if I did the searches and I said that I did. You didn't ask me if I did the searches at home or at work. I often take my desktop from home to work. I did the searches AT WORK from my home computer WHICH I TOOK TO WORK, Sir."

Agreed.

I think the SA will call her because if she pleads the fifth then her entire testimony can be stricken and the jury cannot even consider anyone else doing the searches because they've all been eliminated from that time frame. That only leaves KC.

That includes her testimony about the ladder being up on June 16, 2008.

I respectfully disagree. If they let her get away with it in such a high profile trial they'll be showing a lot of people there is no consequence to perjury.

I feel sorry for her for losing her granddaughter but her history since this began has given me zero sympathy for anything else. JMO

I wonder if her old employer can come back on her with sort of charges for her lieing, and saying that they could falsify employee records?

That's a pretty serious accusation when you are dealing with patients and HIPPA and other government agencies.

:gthanks: :goodpost:

IMO Cindy loved BOTH Casey and Caylee very, very much.

She is no worse and no better than a LARGE majority of parents today. Parental permissiveness, lack of discipline, bailing your kid's out and covering up for them is an epidemic in today's society.

She wasn't "Mother of the Year" by any stretch but I value, deeply, the people in my life who are as loyal to their family and friends as she has been to hers.

I say no. ICA learned that walk to the end of the hall from mommy, in my opinion. She thinks she's smarter, and she'll deny in the face of any amount of evidence. If pressed, she'll fall back on vicmtim status and claim "the medication" she was/is/could be/might have been/ using are responsible for the confusion.

The Gentiva folks' testimonies pretty much sewed up the premeditation aspect. We now know for a FACT that Cindy did not make those searches from the home computer, leaving only Casey to have searched in advance for all those methods of death. You know, I've been the last person to finally give in and agree that there is a pervasive spirit of lying in this family. From the top down, they all lie. I know people like this, and you likely do too. Lies just roll off their tongues because their consciences are seared. Perhaps Casey grew up with lying being the norm. Even "white" lies don't go unnoticed by a child.

Cindy should have refused to get on the stand rather than knowlingly lie. I will now no longer listen to anything she says. Undoubtedly much of what she says IS true, but I can no longer sort it out. I noted Cindy shaking her head during the Gentiva compliance officer's testimony. How could she argue with that? She may come back and say that she thought it was her home computer she searched on, but it really was a friend's or relative's.

ETA: I'm with the TH's that say there won't be any perjury charges because she's the Mother of the defendant and the Grandmother of the victim.

(Just to keep the record straight) Casey isn't Cindy's only child; she's got another one.

Wow great post. When I was reading that I heard CA's voice clear as day saying those things.

BBM

IMO, just because that's true doesn't mean it should go unpunished. In fact in my opinion that's a great argument for why she should be tried for perjury. JMO

I think she might because JB seemed to think she might and I bet they've been talking about it.

And she used to have a grand daughter too, but because of the "child" she's lying for, that baby is long deceased.

My opinion only

The SA won't...but the DT could.

They would be . . . erm, "artless" enough to put her back on the stand, wouldn't they?

  • #36
Do we know if the State are going to call her?

If she pleads the Fifth then Judge Perry stated that her evidence could potentially be excluded. The Defense would then argue for a mistrial on the basis that she has testified numerous times about key matters that the risk that the jury will not be able to exclude her evidence from their minds will be near impossible.

ITA!

Enough is enough already. IMHO Cindy Anthony needs to be held accountable for her actions. We simply cannot let it go and leave everyone facing emotionally difficult situations that it's okay to commit perjury. Regardless of the fact that her daughter is facing the death penalty it doesn't make it right, nor should it be excused for any reason. :twocents:

I tell you all now if I never hear the words mis truth or half truth again as long as I live it would be for the best!

I totally agree. When I think of the "I'm smarter than you are" attitude she used with LDB, it makes me livid all over again.

Who's smarter now? :giggle:

I didn't vote because I don't think she'll be called to the stand again to testify unless or until there is a penalty phase and she's asked to speak.
