Hello, I'm new here! There are several recently solved cold case murders in my area due to new DNA techniques. I'd like to explore whether the murderers could have been responsible for any other murders or disappearances.

Is there an appropriate forum to start conversations exploring other possible victims of killers who have as yet only been implicated in one or two murders? Would this be appropriate in the serial killers forum, even though the perpetrator is not *known* to be a serial killer? Or does it make more sense to post it under specific cases (the known victim's name)?

Thanks :)

Hi There,
It is so exciting to see more and more recently solved cold cases. We have a thread set up for the posting of these cold cases that were solved by new DNA technology that include links from the media and to the proper Websleuths thread to discuss the cases. It is very possible that the cases you are talking about have already been entered in this thread. In that case, you can follow the link to the proper thread where you can discuss the case further.

DNA Solves Cold Cases/Parabon Nanolabs & GED/Match.

If you are unable to find your cases in that dna parabon thread, you can do a couple of searches for a thread by using the victim's name or the killer's name on each search. The search option is located at the top right on each page. You may find we already have a thread on your case.

This thread is set up for serial killers. Some threads are named with the individual suspect/killer's name. Some threads are set up with victims in a certain area where LE is still looking for the killer. Some are set up for similar crimes that could result in a serial killer. There is a lot going on in this forum.

If you are unable to find a thread for the case you are interested in by the means above, you can set up a new thread yourself. In your case, since you suspect a serial killer, you will need to use the killer's name and a link to a mainstream media article to add a thread to the Serial Killers forum. We have plenty of threads where a person is named in one case but may be suspected to be involved in other cases.

WELCOME!
