White Truck Focus and second person in truck.

That last point is the one I keep wondering about.

Well, with my Dodge truck, my alarm automatically sets whether I use the key chain alarm/locker remote to lock it. So, while the door may be open, the alarm will still sound if it entered by a stranger. There's no way to turn it off either, unless you have the key chain remote. I'm not sure how Fords are though. And, I'm not sure how many people really pay attention to car alarms these days anyway.

-Was this person caring for Baby K while TH was in the school with Kyron?
-8:15 am to 8:45 am is very specific. Was the person sighted in the truck at BOTH of those times?

-Was the person in the truck without TH knowing they were in there?

BBM question is one that I find really interesting. I have wondered from day 1 where was baby K while Kyron and Terri were inside the school. I found it really odd that Kaine confirmed Terri had physical custody of baby K during the crucial before school time period and yet not one witness who saw Terri or Kyron at the school mentions anything (that we know of) about seeing baby K.

If there was another adult in the truck that would completely explain to me where that little girl was during the time Terri and Kyron were within the building seeing and being seen.

I can't ever see inside anybody's truck. Do trucks in Oregon not have window tinting?

In my state, it's illegal to tint the front window. It reduces the driver's visibility. If that's the case, it's good because it means the witness saw the driver "face-on"

That's what I have been wondering. I mean I never heard that TH took the baby into the school with her but yet she drives the baby around in the truck afterwards. So did she leave the baby alone in the truck or was there a person sitting in that truck and this is why the police are asking for information?

Honestly, I don't believe DS has told them anything of real value or that they were searching based on tips from her.

If the tips came from DS as she was working out some sort of immunity deal, then the tips would've produced something, IMHO. LE wouldn't have to be guessing about anything.

I also strongly believe LE is leaking the false info that Dede is providing LE with leads to put pressure on Terri in the hope that she'll crack.

BBM: The tips from DDS may have indeed produced something(s). They just haven't produced Kyron. :-(

Maybe we will hear some info at the presser about this and some things will be cleared up.

i agree. i think the le will speak during the pc about the new flyer with dd picture on it - then talk about this mystery adult - in hopes that they find someone who says they saw dd in terri's truck.

I understand that they need to withhold certain information in order to weed out tips, but I guess I don't understand why the sex of the "adult" needs to be one of them - clothing, hair color, etc. - I get that. It's just frustrating, to me, because it seems so haphazard in its broadness. I hope that last sentence made sense. I'm having a hard time articulating what I'm thinking and feeling about this.

Maybe they're not sure of the sex. Maybe the witnesses said well, coulda been a guy, coulda been a woman - I just don't know. Think disguise. Woman puts on a big bulky wool plaid shirt, jeans, ball cap, Nikes. The witnesses may have said, "well, it looked like a man, according to clothing, but ya know, I kinda thought the person looked to have 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 but their jacket was so bulky, I just can't say for sure."

And now that I type that, that could be exactly why LE hasn't released this sooner, and is now going to ask for help. If Terri or Dede were in disguise, it would make positive identification a whole lot harder.

I'm thinking about the impersonator in the Venus Stewart case. People - including LE - assumed for some time it was her husband Doug. Turned out it wasn't. And darned if LE didn't figure it out, and ask the public for help, and find the impersonator, and got him to testify against Doug. It was some great police work.

Recently, I had company for the week and had to go pick up my son from his day camp. On Friday, I left my 2 yr old with my guests and thus, went to get my son alone. I was shocked at the number of people whom I passed between my car and the classroom where I fetch my kid every afternoon who asked about my 2 yr old daughter. "Where's the baby?" "missing someone, aren't ya?" These are people whom I don't even know, just employees, other parents, folks associated with the science camp. I swear, even the homeless guy who sits on a bench outside the museum that was hosting the event, asked me if I had left something important at home. Since he was the first one who spoke to me about her, at first I didn't even realize what he meant. People noticed her absence and it really surprised me.

So, I agree that we haven't heard that the baby was with her in the school, BUT I think that people who saw her would have mentioned the lack of Baby K long ago, and LE would have asked about it (but very likely they asked about that anyhow) What could she have said besides the truth? And how could she have known that nobody was going to mention the lack of Baby K to have concealed the babysitter till now? She really couldn't have lied about it... "oh yeah, that's right... I had a babysitter in the car.. one who would have been able to verify that I came out of the building all alone" So, although it makes perfect sense that another person in the car=babysitter, I don't think it could work in this case unless LE has known all along and either known the identity or known that she was concealing the identity.

LE may have asked them not to mention the baby.

If the baby was in the truck the mystery person could have been turned towards the back seat giving the baby attention. Or if the person were just looking out the side window and the witness saw him or her at an angle their face would not be visible.

The retired PDX sheriff was on Fox News this morning and said that more than likely they will NOT release the sex of the mystery person.

He said by keeping it to themselves it allows them to rule in/out the validity of tips they may get.

MOO, don't know if tinting is legal or not, but I lived there 20 years and didn't hear of tinting til I moved to Az, lol - maybe because Oregon has so many grey/rainy days. Please let there be a witness. Prayers for Kyron.

did this news person say anything about why (s)he thinks LE waited two months before leaking this info? or did (s)he think that LE just got this information recently? tia

It's not like we've heard from that many people who were in the school, so the mention or lack thereof of the baby is not surprising to me.

I just don't think LE is doing anything just in order to let Terri and Dede know that they are "getting close." Terri and Dede would have to be clueless not to know that LE is looking at their every move.

I think that LE really does not know who, if anyone, was in the truck that AM and wants public help; this must, in my opinion, be something they learned recently, as it would be ridiculous to wait this long to try to jog memories if they were sitting on this tip. Perhaps one or more people came out with this at the GJ. I am not convinced there was a person in the truck, but I guess (hope) we will find out soon.

And I don't think there is any relation to person in truck with male chaperone.

"The sheriff's office is expected to discuss the reported sighting of an unknown adult in the Horman family pickup while Terri Moulton Horman was inside Skyline School from about 8:15 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. June 4, the day Kyron disappeared."

http://www.oregonlive.com/portland/index.ssf/2010/08/kyron_horman_investigators_to.html

Maybe this is a stupid question, but I wonder why LE is not specifying whether this "adult" was a male or female. If the purpose of the presser and media blitz right now is to jog peoples' memories, why wouldn't they give a little more factual information about this "adult?"

I was thinking, and its just my opinion, that the windows on the truck seem a little tinted....maybe the witnesses couldnt tell if it was male or female because of a baseball cap or something like that...I know as a woman that sometimes if I am doing yard work or havent had time to shower yet and need to run to the store or something or get called away in a hurry i will throw on one of my husband's bb caps and pull my hair through the hole in back....Ive had people beep or wave thinking I was him, especially if i took his vehicle....just a thought

I'm curious about the whereabouts of TH's teenage son on June 4. The word "adult" could be a minor technicality. jmo

This person has me a bit wigged out. If it is someone tht Terri brought (say to keep an eye on Baby K)

firstly how stupid would it be to drag baby K along so that she could sit in the car ith someone? Makes more sense to leave her the whole 5 minute drive away at the house, right?

secondly, you'd think that person would be someone that Kyron knows...what do you suppose Kyron would have been thinking with baby K & this 'friend' wanting to hang in the car? I'm thinking he'd have wanted BOTH of them to come in and see his project...of course the answer could have been 'NO' but still...seems like to much extra confusion.

I suppose it's possible that Terri had another person there...but something is freaking me out about it, as if it may have been some weirdo that went into the car while they were in the school...how creepy would that be?

Well, maybe we'll know more in 13 minutes...that'd be new & different in this case huh? actually getting information from a press conference.

Who's taking bets on getting more comments that only contradict previous ones, and add a whole new level of confusion?

How many questionnaires were filled out? And out of those questionnaires how many people saw the person in the truck (I know it's 2, but I creating a mathematical equation here.) In which questionnaire (the first, second or third) did this person in the truck "appear."

Doesn't compute with me. Seems like LE is grasping as straws; they didn't and don't have a real clue. They seem to be trying to frame up a time-line, and that' will not hold up in court.

I want to be wrong.

In my state, it's illegal to tint the front window. It reduces the driver's visibility. If that's the case, it's good because it means the witness saw the driver "face-on"

Cars are parked parallel to the Skyline entrance door. I believe that the view would of been from the side, if they were exiting the building. If entering (which I assume most were that day) the view would be from the side and behind. I think the ratio of the 2 that saw this person "head on" to be very, very, very slim.

One thing interesting to me is that since extremely early in the case, LE has focused on Terri AND, when pressed, LE and Kaine and Desiree have expressed belief there were one, possibly two others involved.

When I think about that - it makes me think they had relatively early information relative to this adult in the white truck that was not Terri.

And now I think they've put all the cellphone, computer, video and eyewitness, etc. evidence together to figure out Dede is involved.
