Creepy. Creepy. I'm sorry, I don't like him. I thought having that party was in bad taste as well.

VEEERY interesting how Clive managed to mentioned WH ordering 'her favorite' French fries and a hamburger from room service years and years ago when they met for a late night meeting at the hotel. Hmmmmmm. CYA?

ETA: Sorry, my impression of his talk was it had the feel of a business promotion.

Wow, she told him she would be ready by August. She was getting in shape and going to get her high notes back. (I think she knew she couldn't just given age, but any node growth would have ended that idea that too.) Maybe she was pressuring herself into the old form and not in the new one. She really could have stuck with film or become a record producer in her community.

Dionne sounds kind of weird I think. Maybe a cold??

Whew, at least it's not just my suspicious mind! Thanks everyone.

Her voice sounds shot, a cold or crying? Could also be her age too. (ETA: She was born in 1940) I've noticed my own voice is not what it was just 10 years ago.

What was that all about. sounded like Dionne was going to talk about Aretha and someone cut her off.

i put zero stock in that report about bobby brown at the moment.

anything could have happened. we don't know he isn't there.

it will not surprise me one bit to hear later that this is baloney at the moment, i'm going to pay full attention to the service. this is an amazing home going service.

Why don't they show Dionne up close? Anyway, I loved what her bodyguard had to say.

Lol, Stevie Wonder admits he "had a little crush on her." I love Stevie!

Clive Davis up to speak now. I'm watching the family and friends faces for this one.

i did notice the bishop did not stand for clive davis. he seemed closed up somehow....i might be paranoid.

the negative remarks about bobby brown are seriously unwarranted and unfair....not to mention in poor taste. those who have animosity towards bobby brown in relation to wh should take some time to educate themselves in regard to her life before he ever entered the picture. listen to her own words....that's ll it would take. good grief.

oh...and about dolly parton (since i'm on a roll). she wrote the song...therefore it's her stinkin' song. nobody ever said it wasn't a song most associated with wh. nobody said wh didn't do a stunning rendition of the song, the most heard rendition the world over, quite possibly. dolly parton didn't owe anybody an apology. the fact that she offered one is but further proof to me that it is nearly impossible for an artist to be both famous and genuine at once bc every single utterance is blown up and overdramatized by a world full of critics and wannabes.

moo and all that jazz.

and now i'm going back to the service.....

OH....21merc7...i was not directing at you! i was also interested in clive's reaction but the ramble afterwards just happened!!!! :-)

I don't know. Where was her bodyguard when she was taking too many meds, drinking and then climbing into a bathtub?

How touching, a personal song by Stevie. :)

He made me cry and I'm not a crying kind of gal :-)

Thank you Kevin, Whitney would have loved everything you said.

I don't know why no close ups, maybe she asked so they could focus on the speakers and singers? She is on the list to speak later, so maybe then.

He said they always had separate rooms. She never went to his, nor him to her's until she called him.

Okay, a second one by Stevie and Choir, I love this one. (Stevie fan, can you tell? Lol. Even if his voice is not what it used to be either, he's still doing pretty good.)

Love's in Need of Love Today

There looks to be a private nurse there attending to the family.

ETA: Did the nurse just walk WH's mom out?
