Hello everyone, been awhile, this news caught my heart. So saddening.

I haven't read every post so this might be a repeat, of sorts...but I do know about heavy drug culture, I'm a recovering addict since 1989 and became a counsellor afterwards....I was at many a party when someones heart would stop and they would be thrown in the shower or tub to jolt them alive; it's the life I led at that time...that ran through my mind when I heard this tragic news...for her daughters sake, I hope it isn't and is not ruled drug related. Prayers and thoughts go out to her Mom and Daughter, as well as other loved ones...

Good seeing you all, again...too bad it's under these circumstances...peace, all.

TMZ is now reporting that the family has been told that WH did not have enough water in her lungs to constitute drowning and suspect that a combination of prescription drugs and alcohol will be determined to be the cause of death.

UPDATE to my previous post: MSN Reports Correction from Coroner

MSN Reports~ Coroner says: "I did not discuss meds, drowning with family."

Ugh, I went to google news about something else. WH is the headline on the front page, needless to say the titles of the articles are very disparaging. I read a couple of them, the fox one is one of the worst. Not going to help those grieving, or in need of help right now.

Prescription pill bottles were found in Houston’s Beverly Hilton hotel room, the L.A. coroner’s office said Monday.

But the amount was "less than my medicine cabinet,"
according to L.A. County Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter.

Houston's funeral will be held in Newark, N.J. later this week,
NBC New York reported. Houston was born in Newark and got her start as a singer at the New Hope Baptist Church. She also lived in East Orange, N.J.

This, if true, is an enormous boundary violation between child and parent. No 19 yr old child should be parenting their 40 something year old parent. Not ever. She, Bobbi Kristina, did not allow this to happen to her mother. Her mother is responsible for what happened, I hope her daughter realizes that and does not take on the burden of responsibility which is not hers.

There is a fantastic book I am almost finished reading, titled "Where You End and I Begin", by Anne Katherine, M.A. Based on some of the posts throughout this thread, it sounds like it might be a great read for Bobbi Kristina. This poor child, raised by two addicts, is going to need lots of therapy to heal. Not only the loss of her mother, but many other losses as well, that are common among children of addicts.

But the boundary violation is part and parcel of addiction. It comes with the territory.

It surprises me that I skimmed over these posts last night without saying "that sounds familiar..."
I just realized I think it is because I look at Whitney Houston as Whitney Houston.
I don't look at her as a mother who likely neglected her daughter just like many regular mothers do.

My parents call to ask me where my brother is. He asks me if he can take a vehicle, tells me where is going, when he'll be back...
We both had to drop out of school before we graduated and finish at home. My Dad is always at work and his wife... well yeah. :waitasec:

My brother and I though, have an advantage/disadvantage over Bobbi Kristina.
We are not close to the woman. Not even a tiny bit. We were insulted and degraded to the other extreme.
Though we have a family obligation sense to take care of her... we really don't give a d@mn. (Me more than him.)

Yes, I do realize how sad that is. But I won't be suicidal like Bobbi... I mourned the mother I never had many years ago. :twocents:

This is all so sad, and I'm just having a hard time with all this sadness. Now I'm afraid of the meds my doc prescribed me (anti-d's, klonopin, and ambien). I use these primarily for depression, anxiety, and neuropathy. Being 48 dang this could happen to me! I watched the grammy's and for the first time since I found out, I cried. Jennifer Hudson's rendition was absolutely beautiful. I'll pray for Whitney's soul, and for Bobbi Kristina. It's so hard when a parent dies - especially under such horrible circumstances.

Well it happens quite often - is even cultural. Becomes cultural after
enough time in adverse conditions ... just a fact. People are human.
They have to bond with something (whatever is available). No law or
ideology can undo Nature.

Yes, it does. Children are often the caretaker when a parent is ill (and drug addictions are illnesses). I remember how many times I counted on my son when I was recovering from a tubal pregnancy, gallbladder surgery, a hysterectomy, and finally a broken ankle. While he didn't have to take care of me, per se, he had to fend for himself more as I was unable to do it.

I did the same for my mother as she became ill with her diabetes.

The circle of life isn't always easy :( There are thousands of adults who rely on the help of their children, unfortunately.

Just an opinion... I like this guy.
A few times he said "the body--- Miss Houston."
He continually corrected himself.
Yes, she is a person, with a name not just another body.

Press Conference Summary

BHPD understand it's a high profile event and everyone is very interested.
BHPD understand there is speculation and rumors... they don't want to fuel them.

Miss Houston was "apparently discovered" in her bathtub at 3:30pm by a member of her personal staff...
Prior to EMT's arriving she was pulled from the tub.
She was "unconscious and unresponsive" and was pronounced dead after attempts to revive her.

It is a "death investigation", as in any unattended death of someone her age.
It is not a criminal investigation.

BHPD have concluded their part of the investigation until a cause of death is determined and it is now a coroner case.
No specifics on warrants and it is "not a homicide investigation" but they have "not ruled anything out."

Not going to comment on specifics about Miss Houston, the condition of her body, the condition of her room or anything they have found in the investigation of the case.

BHPD is waiting like us on the cause of her death.

The entire investigation is sealed, following the conclusion it will likely be released including the 911 tapes.

Asked about the drugs and the MJ pharmacy and he doesn't have specific information about that. Can't confirm or deny.

They haven't ruled anything out because they don't know the cause of or circumstances leading up to her death.
They will follow the evidence where it leads them and then make a determination.
They won't have more information until the coroner has more information in 2-3 weeks.

Really? A glass of champagne and a can of beer? That is it? And she was eating with it?

http://www.tmz.com/2012/02/13/whitn...-room-drugs-alcohol-heineken-champagne-xanax/

I don't know - I find a hard time believing she would eat a hamburger, fries, a turkey sandwhich and jalapenos, along with a heiniken.

I've read that she gets nervous before an event.

Who eats that kind of meal before trying to fit into a gown for a grammy party? Someone who may have been nervous.

Personally, I think the food was for multiple people - possibly a bodyguard. I guess the Turkey sandwich was found in the bathroom - but who knows how much of it she ate. The beer remained in the other room (with the champagne).

Like Michael, Amy, Anna Nicole -- I think we all know what the tox results are going to show. And the autopsy report (if released) will show what was in her stomach (food-wise).

Blessings to WH!

CNN/HLN carried most of the LAPD presser. They will not be issuing any additional information in the case. It is a death investigation that is in the hands of the Coroner. COD has not been determined; toxicology tests are being done.

Before the presser started, Nancy Grace reported that three prescription bottles for Diazepam (Valium) were found and had been issued by three different physicians. Not sure about her source, but I might have missed this if NG mentioned it.

LE also said they will not fuel speculation or rumors that are going around.

Don't be afraid to take your meds. If you are not having any severe side effects, it is okay.

I have a feeling more played into WH's death than taking a xanax. We may not know about it for a few weeks, or maybe even a couple of years. I don't think it was just a few drinks and one pill at play here. There is something not being told, maybe not even being looked at. While it could be her major body organs had taken all they could due to previous drug abuse (crack, coke, marijuana, alcohol, and who knows what else), I think there is something going on. Lots of pills on purpose? Someone gave her bad pills on purpose? IDK.

Those pills making the daughter pass out raise my suspicions, so do the thuds heard, water running out of the tub. Lot more to it.
