Whitney Houston passed away on 2/11/12 - Part 2

So she couldn't have gone to the funeral and done the concert? All I'm saying is, if she was well enough to do a concert, she was well enough to go to Whitney's funeral, and she should have been there.

I can see you've never performed for 90 minutes to several hours at a time. It's exhausting to performers half AF's age. (Why do you think drug use is so common among performers? There are a variety of reasons, but one of them is the need to be "up" for hours at a time in addition to traveling, day after day, while on tour.

I'm sorry, but you can't possibly know what a 70-year-old woman with a history of cancer and other infirmities has the stamina to do. The drive to Newark would have taken 30 minutes to an hour each way (depending on traffic) and the funeral itself was over 3 hours.

I have no idea how many performances AF gave last week, but I do know she was interviewed by numerous media outlets.

are you for real?

you're talking about a 69 year old woman with health problems of her own and an entire company of people in her employment and depending on her to perform. furthermore, in spite of the the fact that the press likes to call her wh's godmother, incorrectly as we've already discussed....means ZILCH in regard to how close or not close she may have been to whitney or is to cissy.

what inside info do you have that makes you so comfortable claiming ''if she was well enough to do a concert, she was well enough to go to whitney's funeral, and she should have been there."????

last time i used that sort of language i was referring to a 15 year old!

Ermm, guys, we are not supposed to attack the poster.

We all have our thoughts and feelings here, but none of us has any real info. It is a celeb thread, celeb news, nothing is fact. It is all illusion and we can only make our own thoughts of what we would do known.

Well crap. That makes me think that the plan the entire time was to sell footage of the funeral. I just hope the proceeds do in fact benefit Bobbi Kristina, and not Bobby Brown.

WOW......i made a joke in my first post this evening, speculating on when somebody would make the preposterous leap you just did!!! WOW!

do you honestly question who is behind this? seriously?

Taking an upper and a downer together will cause your heart to stop. Maybe not the first time, but it will. The upper cranks your body and mind really fast and hard, the downer mellows that out a bit, and may - I don't know-help with the really hard crash of the upper. I think the combo may prolong the upper. Crack/cocaine/meth users could keep doing a dose every few minutes to keep that high going. If something is added to prolong perceived effect, you have a problem.

I believe it was called speedballing in the '70's.

Whitney is said to have been to another rehab, (I think she only did outpatient which I have only heard of methodone clinics for that so who knows why kind of rehab), in May 2011. She was said to be okay at first while filming Sparkle, but started using noticeably during filming.

I am sorry about your friends. I wish I could have helped mine, I helped one years later, but most do not want help and addiction rules - makes them angry and violently so, along with the stealing, lying, bumming, you name it ugliness. I hate to see it bring good people down so far and they cannot kick it.

bolded by me.

I think speedballing was injecting heroin and cocaine together: [ame]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Speedball_%28drug%29[/ame]

Good idea. I think that the people with a dress would be more the industry a.k.a. the machine. If it is really a dress she wore. Anyone could make one and try to sell it on ebay. ;) Sotheby's or something to that standard would be where to look for an WH things for auction.

i should have clarified. i understand fully well that the little items you spoke or are insignificant. i simply found that interesting when you add it to the info that came out today about them selling rights to the footage of the funeral. THAT's where the money is, and THAT's got nothing at all to do with ebay, sotheby's, and heaven knows....bobby brown.

If they sell the rights will they have to have permssion and releases from all the people who performed? Also will they have to be paid royalties? Also I wonder if they planned this all along and that is why they had such a spetacular line up? just wondering.

Aretha Franklin performed on Friday night and Saturday night last weekend. I don't know about other concerts that she may have done in the days prior to WH's funeral.

There has never been confirmation that Aretha Franklin had cancer (pancreatic or otherwise). I live in north-suburban Detroit where AF's "alleged" illness was covered daily by local media. While her spokespeople were always grateful for prayers and good wishes for Ms. Franklin's improved health, they were never forthcoming about the reasons for her hospitalization and lengthy absence from public view, leading to intense speculation that the Queen of Soul had undergone bariatric surgery for weight loss. jmo as a local

So, was the story that she had been uninvited because CW was angry not true? Not CW CH. sorry

Yeah I know, but street language got changed to smoking. At least here. '70's to 2012, city you may live in. Milk used to be heroin, now it's propofol. Who knew? :)

I figured something might have changed! Thanks.

That's right--first it was pancreatic cancer, then she seemed to get well, so it seemed impossible she could have had pancreatic cancer. She denies she had bariatric surgery but she has lost weight. Guess I can't blame her for wanting to keep whatever it was, private-- when you're in the public eye, everyone wants to know.

Not only did the drugs damage her voice but also smoking cigarettes. I remember because I was diagnosed with emphysema last year and I asked the doctor if he was kidding. He said no. I'm in my 40's and thought only older people (60's and up) got it. I don't consider myself a heavy smoker. Then I read last year that WH was diagnosed & Amy Winehouse at 27 was diagnosed with it also. Like a DUMB*SS I'm still puffing away. I've been told it's hell to die from and sometimes is worse than dying of cancer.

I'm a decade older and only quit about a year-and-a-half ago (after some coronary problems made it just too embarrassing to keep smoking).

So trust me when I say I am not judging you.

But I hope you find the wherewithal to quit soon. I really do.

I am sorry to tell you it was no eating disorder.

WH did not want people to know she was on the very "negative" drugs. She lied, until she told Oprah, even though it was clear to all.

I think prescription drugs were an attempt to hide the continued addiction, everyone still knew. I do think she got clean for time periods.

**Graphic comments below**

I don't think anyone is ever free from heroin or crack. Simply a reason to never try them. We were shown photos by the police from police files in my high school of people that did these drugs that I can never forget, and nightmare stories. Both reduce you to bones, one makes you pick your skin to sores all over. Your skin also changes naturally on both, one lady's skin started to turn black - like decomp. One woman microwaved her newborn while high. Shock therapy in a way. I guess I had better stop now. I am grateful we saw all those police files.

The druggie-microwaves-baby appears to be an urban legend (though there have been a couple of cases, including a recent one, where mothers deliberately killed their infants in the microwave).

I grew up with the "try heroin once and you are hooked for life", so I never tried it. But that too appears to be a scare tactic. I've read articles about social users of heroin (usually they snort or smoke it rather than shooting up). I'm not recommending this practice, just saying that what we were told was not true, at least not for everyone.

I don't know about crack. I've certainly heard users say it is a very hard drug to quit. I don't need to do my own experiment; I'll take their words.

why do you automatically assume that he was told he could bring 2 people. at first it was reported he was only supposed to bring 1. and please link me to the list of the 9 people he brought. he admitted he took ''his family.'' the only ones identified were his adult children and his fiance, all of whom have relationships with B Kristina and had relationships with Whitney.

you are right, it was handled horribly. but NOT by him. period. he was the ONLY one who actually behaved like an adult.

It seems to me that some think BB was out of line, and others think he's the victim.

After having 5 months of chemo therapy I told my doctor I didn't want anymore and was not going to do the last treatment. He told me that he would guarantee he could give me something that would help all the side effects I was having, but that I had to do the last treatment.

He gave me a script for tincture of opium. I had a hard time even finding a drug store to fill the script as no one had it. I put about 2 drops on a piece of bread and ate it. I have never felt so good, it was complete euphoria. Fortunately I had very little of the drug and it was a good thing. It was a wonderful feeling and one I could very easily get addicted to. It did make it possible to finish my treatments. jmo

http://cree7.wordpress.com/2012/02/15/the-war-on-whitney-houston/

a very interesting conspiracy theory there, with clive davis at the center.

I don't find it so interesting, doubt, just sad. The conspiracy theorist doesn't know U.S. copyright law: his entire theory rests on the idea that Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston couldn't be allowed to outlive the copyrights on their songs. Well, for one thing, unless she bought the rights, Houston didn't own copyright on the songs she sang because they were written by others. For another, U.S. copyrights now last for the author's entire life PLUS decades beyond, so no artist can "outlive" the copyrights on his songs. Clive Davis will NOT live to see Jackson's work become public domain; I can guarantee that much.

What's more, the theorist doesn't even have the basic facts straight (Houston was not scheduled to be the opening act at this year's Grammys).

What strikes me as sad is that our government HAS targeted black political leaders to the point where a conspiracy to kill black entertainers seems like an actual possibility to some.
