Whitney Houston passed away on 2/11/12 - Part 2

Ermm, guys, we are not supposed to attack the poster....

I didn't think I was attacking anybody. Luzianne, if it seemed I was, I apologize.

I just thought your argument that a 70-year-old woman could easily attend a three-plus-hour funeral and then perform a rock concert the same day indicated you didn't have much experience with what it takes to do the latter.

So, was the story that she had been uninvited because CW was angry not true? Not CW CH. sorry

There are conflicting reports. I admit I don't know the truth. My point was just that the claim that Franklin decided the funeral was too strenuous on a show day isn't a ridiculous claim.

As I said some pages back, I worked at a theater with senior entertainers. The guest stars only did 14 minutes, not the full show. But even so we weren't allowed to schedule them for anything but brief press appearances on show days.

After having 5 months of chemo therapy I told my doctor I didn't want anymore and was not going to do the last treatment. He told me that he would guarantee he could give me something that would help all the side effects I was having, but that I had to do the last treatment.

He gave me a script for tincture of opium. I had a hard time even finding a drug store to fill the script as no one had it. I put about 2 drops on a piece of bread and ate it. I have never felt so good, it was complete euphoria. Fortunately I had very little of the drug and it was a good thing. It was a wonderful feeling and one I could very easily get addicted to. It did make it possible to finish my treatments. jmo

God Bless you Mck ;}

His new wife and subsequent children were not a part of Whitney's life. Watching Being Bobby Briwn it appeared that only two of Bobby's children would have been a part of Whitney's life. So respecting the dead and all that Bobby should have had a party of two plus himself. Nine was pushing the boundaries of decency. It has been reported that Bobby brought his new wife and their children with him in addition to teh other two children and others.

There are 3 children older than BK. Whitney was their step mother for over 14 years.

Those 3 children, plus Bobby and his fiancé make 5 people.

Not sure who the other 4 were, if there were 4 more.

I've seen reports ranging from 4-9. Who knows.

Who knows is right, Kimberly, about this and so many other 'news' stories that have been published since Whitney's death.

After the autopsy report is completed and the BHPD has concluded its investigation and released same to the media, I would hope that the stories would decrease if not be gone entirely. Unfortunately, I know better than that.

R.I.P.

Buzzards circling the gut wagon.

This happens EVERY TIME a star dies. Media tries to "one up" each other. There are conflicting reports, he said she said reports, and just plain ole MADE UP reports.

It's sad and so disrespectful to the deceased.

I know, right?? I'm amazed there are that many seriously deluded people on one blog.

Quoted/snipped for brevity for my Reply:

Nova, I don't think it was you but that's just my guess. And, au contraire, you have contributed to keeping this thread on-track. Thank you!

The Thanks button just wasn't enough. ITA ten times over! ;-)

It's disrespectful to the family too...it's beyond the pale.

WOW......i made a joke in my first post this evening, speculating on when somebody would make the preposterous leap you just did!!! WOW!

do you honestly question who is behind this? seriously?

I made that "preposterous leap" that you think I made before you even posted. Go back and read. And actually, if you read my post instead of jumping to conclusions, you will see that there was no "preposterous leap" at all because I did not say it was Bobby Brown's idea to record the funeral. That obviously would have been Whitney's family's decision. I just said I hope the money from it doesn't end up in his hands instead of in Bobbi Kristina's - i.e., I hope Whitney changed her will so that her estate does not go to Bobby Brown.

I'm sorry about your cancer and hope you are now cancer free.

Wow, your reaction to opium just shows how dangerous those drugs are. I remember having IV Demerol, and feeling so blissfully sleepy and peaceful and I actually remember thinking if I died right then that would be okay because I am just so comfortable. I wanted to go to sleep and sleep forever in that blissful state.

I had two spine surgeries when I was a child and was in the hospital for a month. For much of that time I was getting morphine. I don't remember any of it because apparently I would get morphine and go right back to sleep, but I was told that I would cry and beg for more morphine every time it was wearing off. I remember they gave me the shot in my thighs and I remember seeing them almost throw the needle into my thigh like it was a dart. I don't know if that actually happened or if in my drug haze that's what I thought. But either way, I didn't care. I don't know why they didn't give it IV, but they didn't. This was 1970, though, so maybe it was different then.

Even without the drugs, many plastic surgeons won't perform the surgery if you are just a cigarette smoker. They want you to quit first, because supposedly smoking interferes with healing.

BBM...

Smoking affects the circulation, which in turn affects the healing process. It also makes anesthesia a little tricky.

But like you said the entire family needs treatment. Even if it is only for a session or two it might be a good way of getting the ball rolling for that kind of therapy, for the therapists to point out to them how family plays a role in enabling addicts and how they need to change to support their recovery.

I forgot about Dionne's pot arrest! I just went to her wiki and it looks like her sister was an addict. I guess Dionne has some serious financial problems as well.

Yes....drug abuse has been part of the family culture for a long, long time. A lot of people want to blame Bobby Brown, but Whitney was already using drugs before they met, from what I understand. It was just part of their attraction to each other, and part of their life together. He did not cause her to become an addict. I believe the family has a genetic tendency towards addiction, as well as unknowingly fostering the drug addiction lifestyle for several generations.
Bobbi Kristina is in very serious trouble, and I hope someone in her life will realize that the family must stop enabling her. The family is as habituated to the lifestyle of addiction as those members with the actual drug habits are, and unless things change, BK will probably remain an addict.

I read somewhere the other day that she was using on the set of Sparkle, I cannot remember where. I also read that the Bobbi K tub incident was a suicide attempt, again cannot remember where, I've been all over the internet this week on Whitney stuff. That could have sent WH into reality for a moment.

I think she wanted a come back, but I think she also thought she was still all that and it may have been too much to find out she was not anymore. A comeback was not going to be 20 year old Whitney either. With a boyfriend about the age of her daughter she may have gotten trapped in time when the drugs began and did not realize she was not the same person for herself, her daughter, or a comeback that she was when she was 20. The conversation Clive Davis mentioned at the funeral sounded unrealistic - the one about getting back in shape, getting the high notes back, being ready by August. He knew it too. She also asked El DeBarge to help her stay clean the night before she died, everyone knew she wasn't. Especially Clive.

Whitney always tried to outspin spin by denial. Unfortunately that does not work when everything you do is captured on film and audio.

BBM....

All drug addicts live in a state of denial. And their enablers do also.

I am sorry to tell you it was no eating disorder.

WH did not want people to know she was on the very "negative" drugs. She lied, until she told Oprah, even though it was clear to all.

I think prescription drugs were an attempt to hide the continued addiction, everyone still knew. I do think she got clean for time periods.

**Graphic comments below**

I don't think anyone is ever free from heroin or crack. Simply a reason to never try them. We were shown photos by the police from police files in my high school of people that did these drugs that I can never forget, and nightmare stories. Both reduce you to bones, one makes you pick your skin to sores all over. Your skin also changes naturally on both, one lady's skin started to turn black - like decomp. One woman microwaved her newborn while high. Shock therapy in a way. I guess I had better stop now. I am grateful we saw all those police files.

Oh, no I wasn't implying that drugs don't wreck a persons body or that her skeletal frame couldn't have been the result of drugs.

But denying that there is problem with that kind of appearance could mean that she had body image issues in addition to addiction issues. A friend of mine who turned to meth had a lot of body issues prior to using meth. She started using it to lose weight and became hooked from there.

Watching the Inside Edition now...

As already noted they said that Aretha Franklin wasn't at Whitney's funeral because she made comments that upset Sissy. But then they said that Dionne was actually about to introduce Aretha (remember that?) because she did not know that Aretha wasn't there. If Cissy was that upset wouldn't Dionne have known and been the one Cissy would have contacted to take Aretha off the list?

May 1991 (Obviously before the media became aware of her drug use)
Whitney Houston talks about the men in her life - and the rumors, lies and insults that are the high price of fame - interview
http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m1077/is_n7_v46/ai_10640593/?tag=content;col1

But the acclaim, fame and wealth that have made Whitney Houston a household name have been laced with biting criticism, lies, insults and rumors. One week the tabloids raise questions about her sexual preferences; the next week they say she is pregnant by Eddie Murphy, while the third week they report she is marrying star quarterback Randall Cunningham.

Black disc jockeys have chided her for "not having soul" and being "too White," while other critics say she is "too distant" and "impersonal." She was booed at the Soul Train Music Awards, and Keenen Ivory Wayans' In Living Color spoofed "Whitney Houston's Rhythmless Nation."

It's enough to drive a good Christian girl to drink, drugs or at least to cursing. But not Whitney. Though it hurts her deeply, she handles it all with aplomb. During a candid, wide-ranging interview in her 26th floor, north Miami Beach condo overlooking the Atlantic, she talks - and laughs - about success and the pain of fame.

Watching Access Hollywood...

Sharpton and Jackson both support Bobby Browns account of what happened. They did say that Cissy and Bobbi Kristina were not in the church when Bobby Brown came in and left. They also said it wasn't Whitney's family that asked Brown to leave.

I'm a decade older and only quit about a year-and-a-half ago (after some coronary problems made it just too embarrassing to keep smoking).

So trust me when I say I am not judging you.

But I hope you find the wherewithal to quit soon. I really do.

I hope I can too. It's a bad & deadly habit and I wish it on no one.
