JB is NOT being paid by the state. He is not a public defender. Her team is all working pro bono. The state does pay expenses for such things as expert witnesses.

JB gets paid "slave wages" by the state. The other attorneys aren't paid. I think the expert witnesses get paid the JAC approved amount.
