Who SA'd JBR? Could be anybody. If I were forced to bet on it, I would toss in the following (in no perpetual order of belief or opinion):

JR
Grandfather DP
JAR
Family friend like FW
BR (Highly doubt but NOT impossible)
Intruder (Don't buy the IDI theory but not 100% impossible)

Always possible that any SA occurred entirely separate from the actual murder

Yes, I believe that also. I see SA as totally separate from the crime itself. There is no actual evidence that we have to believe for a fact that this was a sexually motivated crime. There sure was sexual abuse to her that had happened, but we do not know when. It could have happened the night before, in the morning, at the Whites or after the Whites and before her passing and staging the crime scene. She did not have a bath that night after arriving home from the Whites and all the blood (seen and not seen) could have gotten there in any time period since her last bath.
