Who will make the most money? Includes various book discussion

I think JB is trying to build up his career somewhat before he lets the media loose on KC. He knows her like a book. Once she gives her interview, to whatever media outlet lands her, they will be saying...."Waste, huge waste." lol

Exactly! Expectations and curiosity will be high and yet it will be just like Geraldo with his Al Capone's vault ... nada. The air will quickly escape from the balloon once folks realize there is nothing new and this is just minutae about FCA not Caylee Marie.

JB's opening statement was the best that they had after 3 years and it is/was all downhill from there. What more can FCA say and ... do we really care? --- since it will be about her and not Caylee Marie or what she did to her. She will claim what happened is still just too painful to share.

FCA's exclusive will come and go in a flash and she will quickly become history, just another notorious child killer to go into the annals of history. Her only claim to fame is having gotten away with child murder ... or did she?

Yes ... I am not so sure who JB is trying to keep relevant and negotiate into a future TV career ... sure he wants FCA to do her exclusive and make him some money but ... I think JB is keeping himself in the news.

Now he is going to talk on HLN to give his spin on the Conrad Murray trial .... sheesh. JB is trying to keep his own light shining and still using FCA to do so.

I think so as well....

From TMZ Live ...

Famed book publisher Judith Regan calls in to say -- despite NBC's best efforts -- NO mainstream publisher will want anything to do with Casey Anthony ... unless her book includes a full confession.

Rejected for book deal!

Simon and Schuster: “We are 100% not interested. We are NOT NOT NOT interested. Simon & Schuster is not publishing, and has never intended to publish, any book by Casey Anthony, her family, or any member of her team.

Harper Collins: “We are planning on publishing the Prosecutor’s book who was involved in the Casey Anthony case, so we have no plans in releasing a Casey Anthony book. We’re sticking with the prosecutor.”

Penguin Group: "We have no plans on doing a book deal with Casey Anthony."

Another publisher went so far as to say, "Hell no ... it's blood money."

:pullhair:
Everytime I imagine an interview with Casey Anthony, I can't help but imaging her sitting in the dark shadows and her voice sounding like a man's voice. Like those people who are interviewed and don't want to be indentified.

I can see that too. I can only imagine the princess sitting there in the darkness with a big ol' floppy hat or hood to cover her head because she was skeered.

Now that I would never watch! I wanna see those facial expressions and fisties :pullhair:

BBM wtg harper collins :great: and do they say who said hail no? love it. I dont click the links, I dont care for tmz to think I am interested :innocent:

IMHO...NBC and the Today Show are pretty desperate. The show is definitely NOT what it used to be with MV. It's really dull IMO. They better be careful, though. This could tank their reputation. People may tune in...but
it it will still leave a bad taste in most people's mouths IMO.

IMO anyone other than a tabloid would be digging their own grave.
But I wonder how many hours have been spent around network conference tables weighing up the options?

There is a poll on the bottom of the article asking whether KC will seal a deal or not, with around 8,000 votes its right about 50 50. Half think she will get a deal, and half say she won't.

If she does it won't be a big name publisher. It'll be one that has little to lose and much to (possibly) gain. A big name publisher has a lot to lose publishing a OCA book.

I still think she'll do some sort of tv interview down the road and be paid for it somehow. FOX news put OJ on the air, anything's possible.

They are now up to 27,000 votes, and it is split down the middle 50/50. You are probably correct about a smaller publisher who has little to lose, and much to gain taking the risk.

And we saw what happened to the OJ book.....:twocents::truce:

Plus OJ was really someone we all liked at one time. He seemed like an All American type of guy not knowing his abusive relationship with Nicole. We did not like KC from the very first time we saw the smirk on her face when she was being arrested. jmo

Not sure a "little publisher" would have the funds to get the interview in the first place. I'd think they'd have a lot to lose if the sale of the book falls flat. Which I suspect it may. She is demanding a hefty sum (rumour has it) for the interview.

that's my opinion too. the only similarity between OCA and OJ is they are both murderers acquitted by faulty jurors IMO. the rest of it including their murders is apples to oranges.

I don't know if I agree with that. There were a lot of OCA supporters in the beginning. Or were you just speaking from a WS perspective?

No one knew KC prior to Caylee missing. Friends and family, yes. But she was not a media event as OJ and OJ was very, very popular with most people. I'm talking pre-crime, we did not know her personally, certainly not the way everyone knew about OJ. jmo

As I recall, she did NOT have many supporters in the beginning. I remember her being analyzed walking out of the jail with the cuffs on and the light blue shirt (that she bought with Amy's money) and she was being called a sociopath at that time. She had a slight smile on her face and then it all began.

And soon after the first phone call was released where she asked for Tony's number and she also said "all they care about is Caylee".

No, she was not liked the way OJ was, not from where I am sitting.

Then there is something seriously wrong with us as a nation who would put up with this type of support of a woman who lies about the death of her child and then expects to make a million off of it. What type of message does NBC think they are sending to people who think they will do a "copycat" crime and expect to get away with it? I just think it is morally wrong to make money off of a child that you were the main suspect in connection with her death. jmo

Not only expecting to make top dollar off a killing but also to becoming known around the world. It doesn't bother some people what they are famous for, just the fact that they are known around the world is satisfaction enough for their already inflated egos. My guess is that FCA spends at least 85 percent of her waking hours reading about herself online. The network that promotes her could give a rats arse about what message is sent out as long as their ratings and monies pour in. You see, we look at it as a moral issue and they look at it as a legal issue. Legally, she was found not guilty, so they don't see whats MORALLY wrong with this picture. Could they sell her story? ***shrugs*** probably. Will they make a lot of money off of her? Probably not. Will other young women follow in FCA's footsteps...unfortunately, I think so.

The longer she waits, the less people will want to hear from her, and when she does talk, it'll all be lies anyway. I can't believe Baez would want her to talk. I mean, what's to stop her from saying ha, ha, I got away with it? She is too dangerous to put in front of a camera, and oh LORDY, a book from her would have to be read while high or drinking alcohol for it make sense. I pity the ghost writer that would have to work with her.

No, I predict if a book ever comes out, it'll be digital only, and you can download it for a certain price. No one is going to waste actual paper on Casey Anthony. And NBC is just the biggest idiot on the planet if they help her get a book deal.
