Based on her job description, it sounds like she has handled targeted kidnappings. If the team was pursuing the possibility of a targeted kidnapping, she would be pretty helpful. I really don't think her presence was name dropping if they were pursuing a targeted kidnapping angle, rather than a stranger wanting a baby scenario or of course, a family member abduction. Naturally, if the situation turned out to be one that wasn't in her wheelhouse, she'd drop off the case. Her function isn't prevention, it's analysis and assessment. I really don't see a reason to direct snark at her or what she does.
Prevention aspects come up prominently in her bio on the site.
What kind of targeted kidnapping would be a probable scenario? I am assuming that targeted means they specifically wanted Lisa and not just any baby that was available. Ransom? Although there apparently are some rich family connections it doesn't appear that the immediate family swims in money. Revenge? For what?
I am sorry if I am unfairly snarky but I totally think it was namedropping. It was built up like that. ("we will introduce a renowned person... wait for it... wait for it... wait for it...") and getting his name in the news appears to have been Bill Stanton's only function in the case.
