Why did KC surround herself with people "less attractive" than herself?

imo, ok, CA thinks she's all that no matter who she's hangin with. She's wearing PH shades, and walking the PH walk while the whole world hates her for crying out loud. She is small, and she's easy, so yeah, she's gonna have lots of guy friends. The girls, the very few that there are, appear to be super trusting people, but certainly not less attractive.

Not everyone hates her, you should see the outpuring of support on her Facebook page. But I see what you mean.

I'm new here and probably shouldn't even post this..... I've been reading for a long time. This post bothered me somewhat.... first of all, a person's attractiveness is in the eye of the beholder. Secondly, I don't believe that normal people choose their friends based on their appearance. As someone who once was the "heavier" person in my group of friends, I just don't know what to make of this thread and the other. I'm sure there are plenty of people out there who do not believe that Casey is "all that" in the looks department (leaving her whole psycho personality out of it). Maybe those so-called less attractive and heavier people picked HER because they thought she was less attractive?

I understand that the whole point of this thread was probably to look into Casey and her way of thinking, I just don't know how factual it is and frankly it makes me wonder about the op and THEIR own inner thoughts.

Caylee is and was a precious soul. I have 5 kids of my own and was a young mother (pregnant at 17) and I'm sure I am not alone when I say she could have given Caylee to me and I would have loved her forever. She has touched my heart more than I explain and I never met her. She shares a b-day with my own "baby" and when I look at my own in all her innocence, I imagine Caylee in all of hers and how she was betrayed, how she felt, how scared she must have been and about how many other people would have gladly loved and cared for her. My heart is broken for Caylee and that is what this all should be about.

I have no background in psychology and I don't know about the disorders, just watching KC she needs all the attention.... it would seem to me that if she perceived someone to not match her standards that she would feel that she is the most beautiful person there and the center of attention. To me this is the crux of why I feel she killed her daughter. She had been the apple of her parent's eye until Caylee. Suddenly she was replaced by Caylee, JMHO

Bingo. For an attention-seeker with a personality disorder, the competition with her own daughter could even be the single, solitary motive for murder! It really could be that simple to people with certain personality disorders.

KC seems plenty happy to hang with people way hotter than her, too - not afraid to grind on 'em or hang with girls that were in the Hot Body contest, etc. So what does THAT mean, in the context of this discussion? That surrounding herself with hot people makes her feel accepted by them and therefore hot herself?

There are a handful of threads in this forum that are of no interest to me, nor do I find them useful or helpful to this case. But there are people on this forum that take seomthing away from them, even though I don't.
I find this topic to be an interesting psychological perspective.

Actually your mention of Casey hanging around with the girls from the hot body contest is a very interesting point with regard to this topic. perhaps she does surround herself with all kinds of differnt people. That si what we are trying to determine.

Casey seems to try and make herself more influential than the people in the pics that she is hanging out with. She doesn't even fit in or dress the same as other girls in most of the pics I've seen. The football party pic has her wearing makeup and a necklace when the other girls are all relaxed having fun with no makeup or jewelry. The fusion pic has her in a dress and boots where the other girls are in shorts or casually dressed. Maybe she's trying to make herself be some executive or something instead of trying to look prettier. I'd like to know if she acted conceited or made catty snide remarks about other girls' looks and jobs.

Really, to point the light back to my original point.

I am not in any way disparaging the appearance of any of KC's friends.

I am trying to analyze the perspective of KC's choice of friends based on her own perception of her and their appearance.

You may disagree with me, but I am in no way trying to insult her friends.

I think it's a fascinating topic and I think it was appropriate for you to bring it here. As for discussing it, I'm too tired at this point. lol. I'm going to finish reading the thread and then hopefully get to bed. (I've been falling asleep sitting up at the computer over the past several nights! I guess we're all obsessed.)

Very true. When you look at all the party pics, she sure appeared comfortable around attractive women too. Plus, maybe I'm missing something, but the only pics I've seen of her friends, they are all quite attractive.

My impression is that she just sucks approval, money, coolness-by-association, whatever she needs from whoever lets her near them. I see her as a user, a leech, a "psychic vampire," even. More than likely it was all subconscious (well, not the theft) - just who she is.

It's really telling that we haven't heard from anyone who's talked about how awesome, loyal, and loving a friend Casey was. Quite the opposite.

And most folks can tell when someone like Casey's around them. They might tolerate her presence casually, but we've got no way of knowing how much any of these people liked/trusted her.

I think KC may have chosen girls in which she felt she would be "the most aethetically pleasing for a number of reasons.. she would get most of the attention from men (which she appears to thrive on) , additionally, although its a sad fact, but people DO judge others by aesthetics, ESPECIALLY in their late teens/early twenties, and those girls who were maybe considered "less attractive" than KC would also prolly have lower self esteem and would be much easily for KC to manipulate them. While KC is a huge narcissist, she also obviously suffers from extremely low self esteem, thus her need to make up careers, play the perfect little homemaker/girlfriend role.. and at least to others around her, appear to be the perfect little mother. Just as the addage goes.. "beauty is in the eye of the beholder".. Im also a firm believer that someone could be outwardly gorgeous.. but if they know they are ugly on the inside.. it transfers.. and they will see themselves as ugly when they look into a mirror.. Bottom line is I dont think Casey's ego could handle not being the "best" of anything in her little circle of friends..

I also found it a very interesting point. I find myself wondering if she would surround herself with different types of people for different purposes or if we might even be barking up the wrong tree altogether. I'll be digging through more psychological information tomorrow, (when my eyes aren't crossed from extreme exhaustion - it's pretty hard to read that way)!

I see that sort of behavior as a means to get attention. If she were to behave in that manner with someone she or society would gage as less attractive, she wouldn't get as much attention, IMO.

I'd like to see your picture because I think you down yourself waaay too much. I'm sure you are lovely as you are.

Now, with casey, I don't see her as being prettier then her friends. casey is only "ok". Heck look at some of these av pics of her the way she really is and not her clubbing, primping for hours pics. She really isn't all that at all.:snooty: Look at pics of casey not all made up and she is average at best.

Could be they felt bad for her and she grew on them.

Could be they all had friends in common so they hung out.

Could be she paid for drinks out at Fusion?

There is a plethora of things it could be.
