Why Have George and Cindy Requested a Video Visitation With Casey?

I hope they are asking her to plea.

I think they are just going to offer her support before her trial.

If they are successful in getting the visits sealed I'm sure the visits would still be recorded, phone calls or visitations, so the SAO will still have the ability to look at them. The Anthonys and ICA would be stupid to try anything, imo.

Yes, which is why I am thinking this is intended for the prosecution. To help make a plea.

I have to get me one of those so I'm ready for whatever the defense is going to roll out - Can you please point me in the direction of the "Tin Foil Hat" store or do you have an extra lying around I could have? Please? LOL
Hahaha - I'm picturing 500 or so sleuthers sitting at their computers on WS threads watching all the opening statements - and when Baez/Mason step up, all placing a tin foil hat on our heads....

As soon as Baez stands up before the jury and utters his first "UM" we will put up this sign

and to stay on topic, we will need them when CA and GA are on the stand spewing any new stories being concocted after this requested visit...

You're right, it could be as simple as that. If they are sequestered they want a back up plan made known to the jury, media, etc. that they support Casey.

I have been thinking that the Anthony's desire to meet now, again and all of a sudden, is perhaps tied to the DT trying to arrange a plea. I have two divergent theories about what they want to accomplish: 1) they want her to plead to LWOP (if offered) or 2) they want to get yet another version of events in front of the SA. Not the public or the media, but the prosecution.

Here is my scenario: I think the DT is trying to get the state to accept a plea to a lesser charge based on accident, and the state is saying no way. So they think maybe a conversation between Casey and her parents now would suddenly and surprisingly (lol) add some "new" information (ahem) for the state to consider.

Call me jaded but the main problem I see with any plea is that JB must go through trial to get his DP qualification. Of course the taxpayers are footing the expense for this. I need to consult with AZ also on the legalities of ICA profiting as well. The SOS law prevents her from doing so if she's responsible for the death. I don't know about if she cops to an accident. I don't think there is anyone who can file a wrongful death suit against her either like in the OJ and SP case.

The A's cannot change their story now without committing perjury. They have completed more than one sworn deposition as well as numerous sworn interviews, ALL part of the courts record. CA is not about to set herself or GA or LA by changing their stories this late in the proceedings.

I think they are attempting to do a COA, plural of CYA. If they change their stories, cover up, now their house of glass collapses. Jose risks his license as well, should their story involve him.

Any changes they attempt to do now will snowball out of control quickly. JBarrett maybe the key to all of this. She, more than anyone, knows where those ghosts are hiding. She just maybe the person behind this new renewed motion. And Anne too.

I think the big AHA moment will come when CA lets Jose have it, what she really thinks of him - on the stand. :innocent:

I just can't see any reason whatsoever for the State to accept a confession of accident made to look like kidnapping because she was mentally impaired by years of abuse and confusion. I don't doubt, though, that G&C are dumb enough to try and get that accomplished, but I don't see the State buying it. I hope not, anyway.

I'm sure they would be allowed to use it at trial too. I was watching 48 hours mystery or one of those last week and the guy called his wife on the phone from jail and they discussed the blood on his clothes.. at trial she tried saying there was no blood, she didn't see blood so they used that phone call between the two of them as evidence in court.

I have no idea what the actual laws are regarding this but I'd think they would be able to use that visitation against them if they are conspiring to change their story.

The problem is that we have seen over the last 2 years that NOTHING this girl says can be believed. The Jury will quickly figure her out. No one with a shred of common sense can believe any story about an accident with a bizarre way of covering it up. No mother will ever swallow that story. Well maybe CA since that would put her in a better light.

IMO they don't want to see/talk to ICA and she definitely doesn't want to see/talk to them.

This is just a stunt to show how mean the court is to not allow the 'grieving grandparents' to see their darling daughter during her hour of greatest need. It is a blatent plea for public sympathy. They are counting on this being refused and refused in the public media for all to see.

If they desperately wanted to visit an inmate in jail they would just go through the same steps every other relative of a prisoner has to go through.

I agree, why the need for the Anthony's lawyer to go to the media after the judge saying he was worried Casey fair trial maybe jeopardized? I believe the Anthony's are running with the judges words, along with the defense , in order to get a mistrial. Now someone tell me why does this wise judge not say anything to the defense or the Anthony's. They are the ones edging on the media. Creating this cirus? Jose is getting his cameo on every day....

I hope it backfires on them .Cause I believe there is coverup on part of the Anthony's that ultimately has backfired and could help put the needle in her arm !!!!:banghead:

Charleyann

I think a mistrial is the ultimate goal on the part of the Anthonys and the defense.

They got more than they bargained for when Judge Strickland recused himself from the case and was replaced with HHMP. They got a judge who was tough, ran a very tight ship, and isn't hesitant to impose the death penalty. He's even witnessed an execution.

If there's a mistrial, it's very possible a second trial would be before a different judge, and JB and CM would likely not be retained as KC's defense attorneys because of her status of indigence. She would have court appointed attorneys.

So, George and Cindy wanting to meet with KC prior to trial might be a ploy to get a mistrial.

bold is mine

Gee, wouldn't that be nice. I wish Cindy would tell her daughter "Ya know even if you did this I will still love you" Cindy's denial is just another in her long line of trying to re-create her daughter's history to fit her needs. Wouldn't it be so nice to hear the woman say to her daughter.. "I love you no matter what you did.. I will be here for you no matter what you did. I love you unconditionally ." It seems the only way she's able to love her daughter is if she's perfect. That is very sad. I wish Casey felt she could tell her mother the truth and know she'd still be loved.

None of that has stopped Cindy from completely changing her testimony about the dryer sheets during the Frye hearings. None of that stopped George from changing his testimony about his "missing binder" during the "Casey was under arrest" hearing in early March.

None of that has stopped Cindy from claiming that Caylee was alive (on the stand and under oath) during the 911 hearings and now they have filed a motion with the court wanting to be present during the trial for the victim in this case... Caylee. An alive Caylee? Or is she now deceased only because it benefits them? It wasn't too long ago that Cindy was writing letters to Casey talking about finding an alive Caylee when Casey gets out of jail.

They have proven over and over again that they are willing to change their testimony to benefit themselves. I believe 100% if they are going to testify that Casey has admitted to them that this was a tragic accident that their testimony is going to change considerably. I think it will all start with their testimony about the first time they had ever heard of the name "Zanny the Nanny." These little visits may even be used to get George and Cindy's story out about why they lied... or were simply mistaken about the dates.

I knew things were going to start getting crazy right before this trial... but I didn't realize they were going to get this crazy... maybe I am just super paranoid, but this family makes me that way. Nothing surprises me with them. :banghead:

The sequestration issue has to do with how each of the Anthonys testify and other witnesses, it has nothing to do with ICA and if they visit her in jail or not.

If their only communication is with JB and he is the one coaching them on their testimony, like the recent dryer sheet recollection from CA maybe they don't trust what he is telling them and want to see where ICA stands on the latest defense strategy?

The laws regarding things like this are simple. When you are in custody... everything you say can and will be held against you in a court of law. There is no expectation of privacy in jail... with the exception of lawyers/clients or minister/inmate. Everything else is fair game. They are told that all visitations and phone calls are monitored and recorded. It's even written in the nice little handbook they give to all incoming inmates.

I expect that CA will lie as much as she can and so will George - and Cindy will use the medication thing. But as it goes right now, it has not served them well, because Perry himself said in a much nicer way that their testimony could be tainted and from what I remember he implied that it was already.

I saw the J. Casseras interview with C. Mason, it almost feels like the Anthonys know about the defense strategy and are going alongn with it. If it is what I think.

Could be although I just can't fathom any of them wanting to talk about the case even in code thereby alerting the SAO to any defense plans they might have.

If it does happen, I don't see it much better than the first visit:

CINDY ANTHONY: He wanted to know if you were eating regularly (INAUDIBLE)

CASEY ANTHONY: I ate cole slaw today. Tell him I ate cole slaw.

(LAUGHTER)

CINDY ANTHONY: Well, you`re probably eating a lot of things you never used to eat before because when you`re hungry, you`ll eat...

CASEY ANTHONY: I hated baloney. I`ve been eating baloney and cheese on occasion. Grits -- I don`t do grits at all. It`s terrible.

(LAUGHTER)

CINDY ANTHONY: Well, you know what? You`re going eat what`s in front of you.

CASEY ANTHONY: God, I just want to go home! Every day I wake up, I`m just hoping and praying that I get to go home. I just want to be with you guys. I just want to help find her because I feel a little hopeless. I feel a little helpless here. I mean, honestly, not really hopeless, but more helpless because I can`t do anything from where I`m at.

GEORGE ANTHONY, CASEY ANTHONY`S FATHER: I miss you, Sweetie.

CASEY: I know that. I miss you, too.

G. ANTHONY: I wish I could have been a better dad, a better grandfather, you know?

CASEY: You`ve been a great dad and you`ve been the best grandfather. Don`t for a second think otherwise. You and mom have been the best grandparents. Caylee`s been so lucky.

More of the same ya know!
