The only discretion in the sentence is LWP or LWOP, correct? I remember this from the Halderson trial (which is super worthy of a watch IMO).
She'll get a public defender who won't be able to decline. There won't be alot of mercy at sentencing, IMO, because state will have completed the investigation into the letter, and it will point at JK. It also might get her prison assignment increased to max?Two things: what's her next fiasco planned and no attorney will want to work with her. moo

You said it!Wherever she ends up, there better not be eye drops available from the commissary.
So, wait…this is the second batch of 2 lawyers who’ve had to withdraw? No elaboration of what the “conflict of interest” is?Two minute video
Attorney Jones is Jessy Kurczewski's new attorney. Also, JK has been writing to the judge about her concerns of confinement, as for her pending sentencing, that's been postponed to April 5th. Reason for the postponement is so that new attorneys can get familiar with the case.

EYE DROPS MURDER TRIAL: JESSY KURCZEWSKI'S LAWYERS WITHDRAW FROM CASE
Judge Jennifer Durow appointed a new attorney for Jessy Kurczewski, whose two previous attorneys have dropped out. Kurczewski was convicted of fatally poisoning her best friend with eye drops. She's set to be sentenced in April. (1/12/24)
During the brief video of the hearing the judge said that it was an issue that came up during discovery. Considering they are public defenders, perhaps they had previously represented someone who was a witness to the shenanigans around the alibi letter. So, wait…this is the second batch of 2 lawyers who’ve had to withdraw?
