Lot's to comment on with this story but being on my phone I'll wait to get in depth until I'm on my laptop. Just had to point put one thing now

"High potency weed" is never legal for minors.

I know it is not legal for minors. But legally purchased weed is quite often smoked by minors. Very very often.

I don't know any 11 or 12 yr olds who do not know what weed is. Doesn't mean they use it, but they know what it is. At least in Los Angeles, anyway.

Also to add, there has been absolutely no discussion of these children doing drugs that I have seen. If you have that information, please provide the links.

The discussion of drug involvement at this point, is moot.

These girls remind me of the two girls who were caught up in their make-believe world in "Heavenly Creatures", based on a true story. Folie-a-deux?

ETA: I see that others mentioned the same thing too.
FYI. Heavenly creatures is on netflix

OK, to clarify, please. I am NOT saying that 'the internet is to blame.' I am saying that this youngest generation, spends countless hours on the net. And it may be a somewhat negatove influence on many of the kids, imo. :moo: And only because it gives them way too much info way too fast. jmo

Sorry Katy, I didn't mean you, I was reacting to various articles I had read online today including the one I posted :loveyou:

Pure speculation at this point. Just saying that if these two girls actually believed that they could walk away from that 'dead' body and go find Slim's mansion in the woods, which is what has been reported, then they were most likely high. Seriously.

I don't think it is that much of a stretch that 12 yr olds would walk home and be responsible for themselves until parents got home from work. It happens in millions of homes every day.

I was just going to post the same thing. Yep, it happens in millions of home.

I'm wondering why these girls parents didn't have them under Parental Control that is advised for young kids and monitor what they are doing online? and how in the world do these young people find these strange websites? My 8 yr. old grandaughter is under Parental Control(which she hates). I sit right next to her when she plays games, some need my authorization for her to play.

I'm so glad the young girl survived, and hope she can emotionally recover from her x friends total betrayal.

As for the "alleged:rolleyes:" killers, throw away the cell key.:jail:

I don't see mental illness here. I see kids that have been allowed to immerse themselves into this culture, without supervision. Think back to that time in your life when you are obsessed with all things melancholy and sad and emotional and mystical. That is a normal part of a teen girls life, however that is when parents are supposed to be on guard, watching, looking, keeping balance...

I don't think this is mental illness. I think this is teen angst gone awry.

I agree. I am thinking budding psychopath.

Not all psychopaths had a abusive childhoods, though. Paul Bernardo comes to mind as one with a quite normal childhood by all accounts.

I don't think that killing classmates, schoolmates is new. Unfortunately we just hear more about it. Sad but true.

The other ones who are psychopaths, but did not have an abusive childhood are Eric Harris, Joran van der Sloot, and Jerry Sandusky. I am not completely sure about Sandusky even though he came from a stable family.

Children killing children has happened before as long as their has been humanity.

It is more than just 'we hear about it more.'

How often did a kid slaughter 20 2nd graders or 13 kids in the lunchroom or spray a movie theatre with an automatic weapon? Now that is commonplace behavior.

Usually mass murderers are older. One thing I have notice, they are getting younger. I know mass murder were there were five or more people killed would be big news. Nowadays, it is not the case, especially after 9/11.

I am not saying they did. But Dad had '420' in his avatar, which is an iconic weed reference. So ZI assume the Dad and maybe Mom, are sometimes users. That means the kids 'know' about it at the very least. And heightens the possibility they have access to it.

I worked in middle schools for years. The percentage of middle schoolers who try pot is very very high. imo

good catch.
It's very possible, hopefully more info will come out soon.

True, I absolutely agree with you on that. When anyone can look up rotten.com and see horrific crime scene photos and gore. It's perverse that it is so readily available.

The internet is not to blame, nor are the authors of this tale. I do wonder at the girls being charged as adults though, how is that reasonable?

http://www.news.com.au/technology/o...f-horror-stories/story-fnjwmwrh-1226942516909

Charged as adults sounds reasonable to me. 19 holes in the victims body, one girl holding her down while the other one stabbed and stabbed barely missing major arteries. Listed in the articles up thread.

I can imagine this little girl waking up at night screaming from nightmares of a knife stabbing her, girls she thought were her friends. I don't know what will happen to the defendants but hopefully this victim will get the help she will need for years to come. Jmo

ciao

creepypasta is kinda a joke site, so it may not be filtered to young pre-teens. No one takes the Slender Man seriously, it was kinda a campfire, Urban Legend tall tale.

I am reading A Stranger Beside Me now and getting towards the end. I do not recall any physical or sexual abuse either, if it was implied it was very subtly implied.

I have read that Ted Bundy when he was young was prone to throwing tantrums and easily angered. His tantrums were often violent.

Not much changed since he was a kid, he continued to throw violent tantrums his entire life including in court on film.

I am not talking about a preteen reading an urban legend. I am talking about preteens, left alone all day to sit with friends and watch free 🤬🤬🤬🤬, and free slasher videos and listen to GoreMetal, about killing girls and dismembering them, and then playing GTA4 while smoking some hi potency legal weed.

I'm on board with you! These were young girls. Computer and games should be supervised. And what they were reading they should not have been exposed to let alone have free reign to delve into even more. Epic parental fail. Jmo

I wasn't the first to mention it, but this case reminds me of:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parker–Hulme_murder_case

1950s. These two girls had an intense friendship and an extremely complicated fantasy life. Their parents wanted to separate them, so they killed the mother of one of the girls. The daughter had planned it out in her diary. They were caught and jailed immediately.

The movie Heavenly Creatures by Peter Jackson tells the story, and uses some excerpts from the diary. It reminds me of this case because these two girls got together and then built this little fantasy together that had absolutely nothing to do with real life. It's not even possible, at this length of time, to tell if they were "sociopaths", as we would quickly presume today. They weren't imprisoned all that long, and I don't think either ever committed another crime.

The other girl, not the daughter, went on to become a famous mystery writer under a pseudonym.
