According to the criminal complaint, Joe Rollag told a deputy at the government center that he needed to talk to Schaffhausen's defense attorney, John Kucinski, or "bad things would happen."

The deputy asked Rollag to speak with him in a conference room. He offered to pass along a note to Kucinski, according to the complaint. Rollag responded by opening a black notebook with a knife clipped on the inside, the deputy said.

The deputy told Rollag that knives were not allowed in the building. More knives were found in Rollag's car, according to the complaint.

On Tuesday the final witness for the defense is expected to testify. They are expected to call their own medical expert to the stand.

The expert is trying to show Aaron Schaffhausen was in a "dissociative state" at the time of the crimes. It’s expected they will have a much different analysis of Aaron Schaffhausen's mental state than the court appointed medical expert who testified Monday.

IMO that's what's key to me. No psychosis, no legal insanity. :twocents: :cow:

ETA - Also, I'd be depressed too if I had to face the fact I was always so vicious to other people, wanting to kill them, threatening to kill them, particularly children!

God bless these precious babies. All 3 of the little girls were completely aware of what he was doing to them.

He strangled Cecilia in her bedroom and just left her there, still alive, and suffering. He went downstairs, and heard Cecilia crying, got a knife from the butcher block in the kitchen. He went back upstairs to kill Cecilia, and found Sophie with Cecilia, trying to help her. He slit both their throats. Then Amara came in the room and saw what he was doing, and he slit her throat too.

God bless their mother Jessica, and help her somehow find comfort.

Sorry for being emotional. This is so awful.

Ita...Do you think, contrary to this Dr's testimony, that AS put them to bed, covered their necks with a t-shirt after washing the blood away, put their bloody clothes in the washer, because he wanted her to think everything was fine? Then, be horrified when she found that he had killed them? He, then, couldn't wait for that and called her to brag that he had killed them, so that he gained immediate gratification in getting her back? He is an evil monster, in every sense of the word, jmo.
