Mark Bucki Found GUILTY of murdering his wife.

I kept reading the trial coverage and was concerned. I thought the defense said there was no evidence at all against this man. There are other articles citing 40 examples of evidence against him. I was sure I had read that he was burning her personal items in a tub or something. I guess the defense was not going item by item explaining it away. The articles in the news were poorly written some days, and hopped around too much. I felt sure he did it, and I'm glad the jury did too.

" Barker also testified that Mark Bucki claimed he washed half of his pickup in the hours after his wife’s disappearance to remove “a lot of deer blood” that was in the truck."

"Mark Bucki told officers he set fire to the carpet in the burn barrel the afternoon of April 26 because it smelled like cat urine, according to court testimony. Prosecutors said the couple had a cat, but the cat died a year earlier."

A Lincoln County man convicted in April in the stabbing and strangulation death of his estranged wife will not get a new attorney and his sentencing will proceed as planned.

Mark J. Bucki, 50, sent a letter to Lincoln County Circuit Judge Jay Tlusty dated May 7 accusing his court-appointed defense attorneys, Jessica Schuster and James Lex, of “misrepresentation” that cost Bucki his freedom. Daily Herald Media on Wednesday obtained a copy of the letter from the state Department of Justice.

I thought when I was reading through things last month, that not even all the evidence was told. He needs to go on and take his punishment.

A judge has sentenced the Lincoln County man convicted of killing his wife and hiding her body to life in prison and ordered that he eligible to petition for release after serving 35 years. Mark Bucki, 50, heard his sentence in court Thursday.

“Mr. Bucki will spend the remainder of his life in the criminal justice system. He will never be a free man,” Lincoln County Judge Jay Tlusty said, referring to the life prison term even with a chance for parole.

Bucki shook his head, his eyes cast down, as the judge ordered him to be an old man before he gets his first chance to be placed on parole – May 2048.
