GUILTY WI - Dr. Beth Potter and husband murdered at UW Arboretum, Madison, March 2020 *Arrests*

Did they believe there was a substantial amount of cash in the house?
Evidently, yes. The suspect or his accomplice related to another person that the victims had "bands of cash".

Sadly, the suspects probably equated affluence ( And relative affluence at that. The victim was a physician, but practiced family medicine in a community clinic- not exactly, "surgeon to the stars" glamour) with having large quantities of cash on hand.

In short, they projected themselves and their real or imagined world on the victims where those with money are decked out in copious quantities of bling and bands of "flash cash" are the norm.

Actually, it was the daughter of the victims that said "bands of cash."

Could someone let me know where the memorial is from Fred&edna. I could not find it. Thanks. I can't imagine how their 2 sons feel. Those poor people were in bed, poor husband in his underwear and she in pajamas. Imagine how terrified they were.

If the daughter was involved with parents murder to get money, then is she capable of doing something to the brothers? I hope they are protected and will changed. So sad!

I hope this link is acceptable. It includes a memorial video with several speakers - At approx 21:30 Robin Carre's brother. Very, very sad (and senseless) loss of two wonderful people.

Beth and Robin

Maybe there was more cash in the home because the parents withdrew some extra for emergency purposes lately?

So their daughter was adopted from Guatemala. Wonder if their sons were adopted to?

From the BethAndRobin.org memorial page...posted 2 days ago...

”Robin, quiet, kind, and wry, was also a part of my family's life --as soccer coach and friend. I picture him reading in the living room on early mornings; watching soccer with a group in their side room; on the side of the field in his Regent shirt, such a strong and skilled coach. I see him kicking back on the deck with a beer and old, cantankerous Snoopy. Or serving up St. Patrick's Day faire or those little red and blue crabs he so loved. And being a good parent. Always focused on his children and their needs. There's no greater example of this than his consistent efforts to connect Mimi with her birth family in Guatemala, as she so desperately wanted.”

It's so sad when you have children that bring these horrible people into your life - scary times indeed.

What’s really scary is, in some ways, the boyfriend seemed to be quite a success story. Wasn’t he Captain of the football team and President of the Black Student Union? He was no outcast.

He had friends. This wonderful family has taken him into their home...were paying for his takeout food...and even paying for a place for him to cohabitate with their teenage daughter.

But yet, for all that acceptance, he could herd these two wonderful people into a ditch and look at them, terrified...and you know they must have been pleading with him...and just execute them...no problem.

We know there is evil out there, I guess we now have to worry about who our family members bring into our homes...

Thanks for the correction.

Clearly possible.

My very subjective impression is that the victims would not have withdrawn significant sums of cash.

Doctors are known for objective thinking. Financial systems are functioning reliably, and there are no indications of any sort of collapse. As a result, there is no objective need to withdraw large sums of money.

Then factor in the victims' demonstrated sense of community responsibility. Both would have known that needless runs on banks would only compound difficulties for more vulnerable people.

In short, I can see the victims keeping some extra cash handy, but nothing that would resemble the "bands of cash" that the suspects expected to find in the home. Rather, the teller was probably relating what the suspects would be interested in hearing.

The suspects then "confirmed" the claim with the false assumption that relatively affluent people must have large sums of cash at home because thats how affluent people live in their "world".

A wise woman once told me, "Children grow up in spite of their parents." She taught for 38 years. Her point was so profound to me as a young parent. You can do the best that you can but they will make their own choices. This has given me comfort throughout the years. She was so very right. I miss her and all her wisdom since she passed.

They might need to bring charges against that daughter for collusion/conspiracy.

For those of you who saw his FB...he made a similar hand sign frequently. Was that gang related? Any indication in any reliable media?

He was making a hand signal and grabbing his crotch in one picture. o_O

He might have thought there were bands of cash in the house. Has it been said if he went back to their home after he killed them? Even saying this is so uncomprehensible.
